I've got to be honest. I really don't understand why they didn't just use the SCG for this. (In theory) it should be representative of fans and the mechanism is there already.

I think you may have misread.

Ms Garlick says: "The seat will be shared by supporters groups such as members of the SCG"

Not exclusively the SCG. The wording implies that it is open to all supporters groups on request. Although, admittedly, not very clearly!

So does that mean one of the 25 people who protested outside the Council offices? Let me remember was it some chap called Stuart Cosgrove.and another bloke whose name I can't recall.

Considering people on here keep saying no one will turn up then 15K is going to be way too much.

Given they're never going to build it anyway, surely we can be far more ambitious. I demand 100,000. :)

Sorry to disagree Simon, you might want to read the latest newsletter from the Sky Blue Trust. It includes Ms Garlicks response to Trust request for a seat on the committee following a vote by its members. Makes it clear there is one rotating seat for the SCG.

I don't think I've seen that, but I'd love to have a look if you could possibly forward it to me? [email protected]

All I can say is that we have certainly been told that it's a rotating seat for supporters groups. One would assume that would be at the discretion of Ms Garlick.

Always happy to investigate these things further in order to clarify.

If you were going to build it, and rely on attendance and revenue from those attendees to pay back all of the debt it would involve, then it's going to take a very, very long time if you limit it to only 15,000.

But if you're not going to build it, you might as well plan for 100,000 and a sliding roof and pitches to boot. If you're going to indulge a fantasy, then you might as well make it a fun one...

I suggest the Garlick committee try and get a TV slot on Escape to the Country.

The plan is to be in the championship when we move in, he's living in a dreamworld. The best 2 chances by far to get to the championship have gone and we're going to be exceptionally lucky if we are still a league 1 club by the time this is finished (giving him the undeserved benefit of the doubt in assuming it's real).

Tim Fisher, chief executive of CCFC, was invited to join the meeting for the final half-an-hour to answer questions on the new stadium. It was put to him that a 12,000 starting capacity would not be enough.

He said: “This has been presented to me a few times so we’ve spoken to the architect and we are going to look to increase that to at least 15,000 as a starting point.

Of course, the ambition is to be in the Championship at the point when we open the new stadium, so we might then look to go even further in terms of opening capacity.

“But the reason we are going for the type of design we are looking at is the flexibility of capacity. We are balancing economics with the atmosphere of the stadium and that is why this feedback is so vitally important.”

I thought they were given a maximum of 5 years to get it built.

I agree lets really push the boat out 200k capacity, with a topless waitress for every 10 fans.

We can play friendlies against Barca and Real Madrid which we always win by at least 5 clear goals.

After all in my fantasy football Cov always do brilliantly in the Champions League

Like I said yesterday, the time for putting forward what appear to be complete fantasies from SISU et al is past. I for one will not believe anything from either side until someone ponies up some cash to make the "moving on" a reality

I'm not sharing my topless waitress with anyone. I insist on (at the very minimum) a one to one ratio, this rising to two to one if I buy a ticket in the main stand.

I shall inform Ms Garlick forthwith.

If I am going to pay a premium to have a topless barmaid I would want better than Ms Garlick.

@TheSimonGilbert: Tim Fisher has said the club would now like any new Sky Blues stadium to be 15,000 seats 'as a starting point' Full stadium story to follow.

Stiff budget, increasing capacity....The Viagra Arena!

Just goes to show that they cant have made much progress on it yet then.

Even with the lack of a land purchase, I would have expected the budget and financial plan for building this new stadium to have been in place by now (if they have any intention that is).

To just suddenly say it will now be 15k suggests to me that no work has been done on this ground so far and it is nothing more than an idea.

Having said that, perhaps I'm being harsh. It could be that they did their financial plan for the new ground and then realised that their financial plan was a mess. We all know Timmy's bookkeeping isn't the best.

I must admit those stadium pictures do look nice (would look better with some of the topless waitresses as suggested by others. Reality check its 7 months since the decision to go to sixfieldsl and the only development has been these pictures and a load of deluded city fans on an ego trip being the super fans thinking they have an influence on the club's future.

Hopefully the FL will see though this spin and challenge SISU regarding their actual developments on a new ground.

To those super fans hope you are suitably embarrassed in years to come with your involvement in this pantomime.

Getting back to the OP. IMO the most shocking aspect of this is that Simon Gilbert broke the story and not the extremely well connected RFC. Help!!!!!!! He needs better contacts. PUSB

The first meeting was attended by Ms Garlick, Michael Garlick (no relation to Ms Garlick), Tim Fisher, Carrie Fisher (no relation to Tim Fisher), Jim Brown, Roy Chubby Brown (no relation to Jim Brown), George Ireland (not born in Ireland), and David Buust (no relation to SISU's strategy)

It seems they have filled the committee with a fair sprinkling of sycophants, fantasists and usual suspects. No wonder they were demanding bigger capacity.

In reality 12000 will be absolutely plenty in the very unlikely event of it ever seeing the light of day. If it were to open in 2017 as a 12000 seater, with City still languishing in League 1 (or 2!) the place would still be three-quarters empty. Fisher just will not accept that people have already moved on and only serious success will now lure them back.

The damage that has been done to the club will not be repaired for decades, if ever. This mythical stadium is just a deliberate corporate distraction. It is hard to believe all those on the committee actually believe a brick will ever be laid.

The one thing that bugs me about all of this is I don't want a new Stadium in Exhall or La la land I want to go home to the Ricoh :(

Why can't Sisu, ACL and CCC come to a fair compromise instead of being obnoxious, ignorant, selfish fuckwits???

I am glad they've made their position clear.

I thought CCC said it can be leased but it's not for sale?
Not aware of a Sisu bid that might change that.

I suppose Sisu need to persuade us that they are the good guys with stadium talk.
Plus make out that ACL are the bad guys by saying that they will not sell to them yet fail to actually make a bid !!

Why do people continue to entertain them when they have done absolutely nothing to progress this either way?

Talk is easy !!

“Ultimately, we want to get across what it means to be a Coventry City fan and how we make this new stadium home.”

Excellent news! I take it they will be building a booth where home fans can go and get kicked in the bollocks by a fat smug c&£/ wearing a suit, just so we never forget what it feels like to be a city fan.
