TBF he's not looked like scoring a hat trick for us - SP is exactly right that playing for two teams has prevented him from getting adapted to our style.

No doubt he got a "take it or leave it" deal from Arsenal with the lad's youth team commitments, and took a punt on him based on talent. But it;s not worked out and this should be a lesson fpor the future. It may be that another, lesser, player on a full-time loan basis may have helped us more, so potentially it has actually damaged us to have Chuba.

Thanks for the effort Akpom but hope he doesn't return unless it is a "full time" loan.

Have any of you ever taken this from a superior at Work .
I never have or will ,I'd rather go skint and have done on that basis.

Look at the expression of the Oppo manager In the Background.

And tbf, he didn't do much wrong on Saturday. Certainly didn't deserve this. Can count more than a handful that would have deserved it, but Chuba wasn't really on long enough to make an impact. And played out wide. When we needed someone up top with Callum. Who's fault was that?

This is very disappointing of Pressley IMO

But is this a criticism of Akpom himself, or should it be the way we've used him and tried to play him in a system he doesn't suit?
Yes I know it's only an under 21 game, and competition is much different, but maybe, just maybe our system was different we may have seen a different player

at the risk of sounding like Nick, do we know he was shouting at Akpom ?, it could be the angle, he might be pointing at the ref or an opposition player ?

You could be right though.

We don't know for certain, no. And I'm sure if challenged in an attempt to answer that, it would be played down.

However I say the picture says all we need to know.

'Loan' player(s) slated post match for not pulling his weight, this particular 'loan' player has now ended his spell and returned to his parent club. Another 'loan' player who also hasn't performed remains at the club. You do the maths :D

Steven Pressley has strong words for Chuba Akpom at Brentford

It was their take on It and they were their to take the Snap.

Doesn't look like he's point or even looking at him, more like someone to the right out of shot.

Can anyone who was actually at the game tell us Elvis went off on one at him or it's just the way the photo's come out. Don't remember anyone mentioning it in the match thread.

I'm not criticising the player; it's clearly just a situation that didn't suit him or us. It's a situation with no precedent so it was worth giving it a try, but I;d be against a repeat experiment for the reasons given. If Akpom was available for a "full time" loan I'd still be interested.

It was more of a general 'but is this a criticism', not directed at you :D

Picked this up from GMK . Also a reference to the travelling and mismatch of situation /expectation from the club .Apparently he turned up for a game after travelling back and forth thinking a Pre-match meal would be laid on to be advised by another CCFC "this is CCFC " and someone having to go to corporate to find him something to eat.

Pressley went mental at him just after he went on. Wilson was charging around like a man possessed going for headers and harrying defenders. There was a clearance by Murphy which Akpom just stood and looked at whilst wilson chased and went up for the header. He took a knock and whilst he was being treated Pressley call Akpom over and went ballistic at him. He and Delfouneso just dont look like they give a shit.

I was there but tbh I was too busy walking off in disgust to pay any attention to the bedraggled procession of our squad and backroom staff traipsing across the pitch and whether they may or may not be barking at each other.

He was dreadful. Highlighted by how hard Wilson worked trying to win balls and run on to his own flick ons!!

Is this a knee jerk decision from Pressley from his anger at the weekend, surely we're not in the position to be sending people back especially at the strikers position.

The thing with him returning for youth games and missing every third of our own games isn't working for anyone. Spend the wages money on someone else; preferably Marlon King who might bang in a few (goals) between now and the end of the season. Hoepfully we won't go down before he does...

I can't see anyone else coming in tbh, we might regret this decision to send him back if Delfouneso or Wilson miss a game where we need a result

A few training days, 90mins of football once or twice a week , paycheck at the end of every week in excess of £2000-£4000.

If I was SP I would headbutt, strangle and kick at him If he wasn't playing the way I wanted him too. Ask Fergie....

I agree with this, when I first saw the photo I didn't even think Pressley was shouting at Akpom but someone else.

Football is completely different though. Definitely one of those situations where a "if this was in my work place" comparison isn't equitable.

I'll change it slightly then, although you are correct.
If my Sunday league manager (of years gone by) came at me like that I wouldn't be able to play the next week.
