Returning to the Ricoh is Plan A

In which case they need to come out publicly and say that is what they want, not keep banging on about having moved on and building a new stadium. Let everyone know they want to come back to the Ricoh and let everyone know what deal they are prepared to do to return. If they did that they could see a huge swing in fans opinions.

If what you actually want to do is the same as the majority of fans want why keep it a secret?!

Finally, explains the touchiness before.

Why was none of this explained just like that in the first place? Would have avoided a lot of unnecessary confusion.

Makes a lot more sense now.

Is there going to be a proper forum if so I am more than happy to stick with rather than these little smaller meetings.

So you yourself have had a meeting has it changed your opinion on things?

Do you see how plan A is viable?

I wasn't being touchy, it gets frustrating when people love to moan about things like that but when I say I can pass your details on and you can probably go and see them yourself there is suddenly quietness ;)

To be honest, so much of it was over my head but it was worlds away from a "SISU lover" meeting where everybody was lapping up everything he said. I haven't said who was there as I respect people's privacy and I wouldn't give their details out for the same reason.

The arsenal game in the background was quite good though ;)

To be fair, that was the general feedback he got. Pretty much word for word.....

At the meetings that took place were people in attendance asked to not talk about it? Seems a bit odd that people who are posting on here numerous times a day went to a meeting and not one of them thought to make any mention of it on here!

No, there was no "you are sworn to silence". More likely the reaction it would get like Dongos about "special" fans etc etc.

I personally didn't say anything because I couldn't be bothered with the "SISU Lover" type of crap I knew that would happen, nothing secretive.

I think if we were sworn to silence, we could be expecting letters now ;) The fact that when asked "how many people" I was told "the more the merrier". Nothing dodgy on SISU's behalf with it, more likely my lack of organisation ;)

That would be good news for the fans, that SISU, us and CCC/ACL all want us to return to the Ricoh. But this is a high stakes game, nobody knows whos got Aces or Kings, so I guess you can't blame them for keeping their cards hidden. A few bluffs along the way keep everybody guessing.

Because you are saying you want to meet him so I am asking for your details, I am not going to give any bodies personal details out without permission which is why I'm asking for you to send them over if you wish to have a meeting.

It is then down to you too ask questions and up to you if you wish to share them.

This one particular meeting happened because I was contacted and asked if I would like to meet, I also asked if others were welcome to which they were so I invited a few people at short notice. If it seems dodgy it is down to me in this instance as I had to quickly try and get 5 or 6 people together.

There was actually no limit of people set or any vetting of people but being really busy myself I couldn't do that much and obviously didn't post much about it to not let people down.

Nobody was vetted before arriving, which was proven by last rocking up and sitting next to ml.

However they have been quite open that if others want to meet I am welcome to pass their details over.

So do you want me to try and arrange anything for you or not? :)

I think he prefers safety in numbers - or behind a computer screen.

Fucking hell.

The bitching on here and looking for some kind of angle to run down people who dare to talk to the 'other side' is as much a reason as anything not to say anything. It's why it was quite handy letsallsingtogether was there, as he's so patently not a SISU lover his presence at least authenticates that. Worryingly, he turned out to be quite a sound bloke too. It proves the point as said by many before, in person you remember we're all just a bunch of blokes who want to support the same football team at the end of the day, and there's solidarity in that. Now I know who he is I'd happily buy him a pint.

Now if only we could harness that better than we do on here...

Anyway, he (Labovitch, not LAST) did ask at the end of the meeting (once one of us had gone) that it was on the understanding it was off the record (not sure anyone heard that other than me anyway, and it was addressed to me so being a man of honour, I will do what asked! I suspect 'off the record' was meant more in a Chinese Whispers, things getting reported back as FACT and leading to hilarious misunderstandings as a result) but that builds it up to levels of conspiracy that aren't there... in that there really wasn't anything I could see worth reporting on, even if I wanted to! I did say I'd give my general impression but, really, some people on here looking for any avenue not to listen and to shoot the messenger kind of puts me off even doing that. And what's worse than people pretending to know more than others and lord it over other fucking fans? I met McGinnity once too on a one-on-one. Similar in that there was sod all reporting back from that. For all I know I've met Joy Seppala and not realised it(!) but hey...

Nothing we hadn't heard before in some form or another really, and if people want to bang on about keeping an open mind until the JR, then why would those self same people want me to engage in one side's PR work for them?

He had a narrative he wanted to say, I wanted to take him off that narrative... with mixed success. But any conclusions I've drawn so far are only my own hypotheses rather than conclusions, so I'd rather keep my own open mind too. Also, I'd rather wait and see what comes out of these meetings with regards to SISU's own approach or not anyway, before jumping.

Have your private meetings ! Bristle with pride at your ability to fix a meeting with the representative of the most hated connection ccfc has ever had . Watch your own private fixtures at sixfields . Constantly berate a fellow supporter that just wants a question answered that he has asked a hundred times . you know what , if sisu get the verdict on the jr and end up ripping the Ricoh off the people of cov it wont be forgotten for a long time . Keep following the piper, children!

No quiteness from me on that front just needed some clarification about what was happening and whilst you were calling me out I had already PM'ed the person I thought was organising it.
Had to guess as no one (you) were coming out with a straight forward explanation like you now have.

So you are quite off the mark with your comments. It hard to come to the party when you never knew the party existed then when you hear about it through the rumour mill you get snidy comments when you ask some questions.

Like I say know I finally know you were the person contacting people I understand the immediate pop you had about me 'starting a thread' to a very innocuous question.

No offence taken

You are moaning about not being invited to said party, I am saying I will try and get you to the party to ask what you want ;)

Much easier to moan about something though isn't it, stir it up a little bit too eh ;)

Interestingly one of the people I was with said pretty much this. He said he has been asked to comment on the situation at Coventry numerous times but said anyone who tries to reasonably side with the club is just castigated in the media so he steers clear.

Think about it; Sillett was accused if being bought by sisu or perhaps senile. Robins bought by sisu. Adams - a clown. Les Reid - a useless hack who knows nothing, sinclaire - just a torrent of prejudice and abuse.

His point was pertinent and clearly an indicator why not a lot has been said.

Precisely why i haven't said anything of consequence about the meeting, as in reality there wasn't anything concrete which could be said.

To be fair to him, not one person who could be called a Sisu lover there, but just mentioning it has not got everybody who has attended, including LAST, tarred as one!

Edit: I'd also had a good afternoon in the pub garden before I posted my response last night!

There were two other people at the meeting. Both have inside knowledge and one in particular a previous association and a wealth of knowledge (i will refer to him as Mr A)The official line is sisu want the Ricoh either owned or on a long exclusive leasehold with their management company running the events management. If this does not happen then they will construct a stadium.

Mr a agreed with me. The stadium will not be built as it will make huge losses. His view was that sisu have not done much wrong and the council are very difficult to work with.

You've got me really confused now. Did you not say:

"I repeat the 24 people were not SCG members and had a wide range of views"

So which 24 people are you talking about if there were only two other people there?

You initial response to my question was to have a pop.

I then PM limenco because of his cryptic thread asking people to pm him for a meet.

However at that point I had already decided I was far from impressed with the fact that meetings were happening and people were getting snidy comments aimed at them when they were justifiably asking how us this happening why do we know nothing about it.

Then still without anyone explaining how it was happening I get your come in then if your brave enough to meet ML I will arrange it. ( you asked in such an in provocative manner)

By this time is was clear you were getting arsey with people asking how it had been arranged because you sending the invites.

All I want to know us when is the real forum not private invite only ones that people kept to themselves and I will ask my questions at that.

I applaud the club meeting with the fans they should do far more of it fair play to them.

I don't applaud people keeping to themselves once they have had a meeting.

I don't applaud sarcastic comments when someone out the loop is asking how are the meetings getting arranged.

It wasn't sarcastic, it was somebody giving it loads saying this and that should be asked and when the chance arises they aren't interested ;)

Stick to stirring...

When did you first get asked to invite people?

How did you decide who to invite?

When people began to find out about it. When people were asking how people were getting invited? Why did you not explain how it was happening initially?

By the way 'why don't you start a thread about it' is sarcastic and didn't answer the question.

But if you don't understand that that and your reply to Schmee when he asked a similar question is sarcastic you probably don't understand that asking such questions us genuine and not stirring.

I didn't say anything because of these million questions from people who just prefer to stir it and wouldn't actually go.

I picked a handful of people with a range of views who I thought would have questions and would challenge. Which is what happened.

A couple couldn't make it :(

It was nothing against people who weren't there, I was hoping I could invite another handful for another afterwards.

I really don't see why it matters.
Nick runs the biggest skyblues forum seems a logical place for the club to go to set up a meeting with fans. Seems Nick chose posters that aren't shouty fools and that usually have sensible debates on the forum.
Fair play to him and them I say, just a shame they feel they didn't get a massive amount out of it.

Otherwise I can imagine your lttle list of buddies.

I was expecting that sort of reaction, but i guess the people who went could tell you I certainly had no agenda about it.

I probably could have invited more, there were no restraints from mark L as to who can go.

If a few more are interested then I can only pass their interest on if he is here again.

Should have asked me at the time. Or when some dropped out seen as you seem so desperate all of a sudden for me to do it now.
But I am sure you were not sarcastic and you are not goading when you finally offered.

Out of interest when did you first get asked?
Are the million questions you are getting now that bad really?

Did you say earlier there was no limit on how many could go?

Would you mind telling us about your meeting?

Do you know if there will be the promised public forum?
