@ CCFC....What you say "You already know" isn't what you said...."He didn't get a squad number because he was set to leave the day they were submitted,".............Is totally different to what actually happened..........The long-serving midfielder was believed to be in talks with a League One side Barnsley "AFTER" becoming surplus to requirements with the Sky Blues. The bit that I've highlighted...."AFTER" That says to me he was bombed out before going into talks with Barnsley, which would have taken a good few days to set up. So to say "He didn't get a squad number because he was set to leave the day they were submitted," is utter bollocks.
He wasn't bombed out, he was told he could leave as Pressley told him his game time would be limited. He was then set to leave the day the squad numbers were submitted so he wasn't given one, the move then collapsed and he was then injured shortly after. Pressley has said if he remains at the club he will be part of the squad and have a squad number.

It isn't bollocks, what I said was almost word for word what Pressley said at the fans forum, unless you also thinks what he said was BS.

Whats bollocks is people making stuff up and talking about speculation as fact.

Note: Seabourne wasn't in Pressleys plans yet still received a squad number, why is that? Surely on your reasoning Seabourne wouldn't have been given a squad number if he was being 'bombed' out by Pressley. It isn't a conspiracy as to why Baker didn't receive a number, maybe its actually for the reasons Pressley said

I wonder why he was told his game time would be limited? If SP's thinking he isn't good enough, or he won't fit my new way of playing, or I've got better players lined up, then it needs to start happening. I know we're only a few games in, but if things done improve and he gets fit, he should be given a chance. He's supposed to be a professional footballer, give him a role and he should be able to adapt to it. Unless, of course, its a decision out of SPs hands.

Not a player I have ever rated but he does seem to have been treated harshly, his end product is average and spends a lot of time waving his arms tends to look busy with without doing much. Is popular with the fans as he interacts on social media a bit like William Edjenguele.

Why do we, or anyone else for that matter, not put clauses in contracts relating to what division we are in. Something like in the championship you get paid x amount, in L1 y amount. Add in decent bonus for promotion so a player has some incentive for staying and trying to get us back up. You would probably need to give the player a release clause in the event of relegation but seeing as we need to offload Championship players to meet the L1 budget that shouldn't be problem.

As I understand it players simply won't sign contracts with clauses like that, but times may be changing.

I think you should include a statement about the system in every post you make. Also you should start a thread about it.

It's very easy to criticise isn't it , like how you swerved the question because you can't form an opinion on why we didn't perform yesterday.

Just sharing my work tbh

Yours is the (self acclaimed) definitive opinion, nothing else can be added.

Not been a player that has divided opinion amongst fans more than Baker for many years. My opinion is you only have to look at his goals and assists over the last few seasons to show he can definitely do a decent job at this level...he's proven so why anyone would want him bombed out without replacing him with someone who can provide the same doesn't make any sense to me....And yes I do like someone at the club who gives a shit about playing for us. For some the fact he interacts with fans and has his kids wearing city tops is a reason to slag him off. Give me a Baker over a Bellamy or a Marlon King any day of the week.

I've seen quite a few on here and GMK use the fact he actually spends time talking to fans and conducts himself very well off the pitch as the reason why many rate him. It's even alluded to on this thread. Personally I think he could do a good job and that's solely based on his goalscoring and assists record.

He was in the league one team of the year last year - voted by his fellow professionals

ha ha I think Covboys....."swerving the question" as it seems to be the new statement........of course completely made up
just like another comment that said Baker is good for ten goals everytime he has played in this division........despite only doing that once.....

Easy to blame the system thou isn't it?

What about the individuals who are playing it?
What about the strength of the squad?
What about the opposition?

Or maybe it is a combination of all 3.

Or is it that all Cov fans are moaning bastards and it is upsetting the players!!!!!

BTW I didn't go to the game, only listened to it on the radio so really can't comment.
Just seems a cop out to blame the system and when that doesn't work blame individual players or the manager.
If it was that easy we would all do it.

So surely if the players don't suit the system you change the system to suit the players you have?

Blast from the past.

I know some don't like it. However we make lots of opinions on here and sometimes it good to have a look back and see how it all panned out.
