We also run paid-for adverts for CCFC, and even did so when they were at Sixfields.

I can't see why we wouldn't let people know how to get hold of tickets for sports events taking place in the city, or take adverts from sports teams in /around the city?

I remember when we had the Pink, great for following all Sport in Coventry. They still covered the Villa and the Blue Noses...we did not get all insular back then?

There was nothing like the united opposition to the Wasps move from our readers / the people of Coventry as there was to the Sixfields move. The people of Coventry have been, and continue to be, split over the move. You only have to look at our comments sections / letters pages to see that.

It's not comparing like for like.

What, ultimately, is a point of a newspaper that holds no opinions one way or another?

And the lack of consensus is surely a reason to delve deeper and ask questions. Why do you need 100% agreement on a subject to ask questions? In fact, even if 100% agreement is forthcoming, why does that stop a journalist challenging the ideological position put in front of them?

A newspaper is never 'fair', a newspaper always has a skewed perspective one way or another.

If it wanted to be fair, it'd ask questions and not just roll over.

I'm genuinely astonished at the position of 'it'll happen anyway' as a reason to roll over.

After all, a political move of not taking a position is still... taking a position.

Up until now, I've not really been that fussed about the reporting as, well, it is what it is. The same as Les Reid was offering a certain perspective by interviewing Seppala, so other reporters (including yourself) were offering a certain perspective in other articles.

This, now, however, suggests that bar an opinion piece from Andy Turner against Wasps coming to the city, the attitude of the paper is a big fat 'meh'.

Which is... astounding.
