Upcoming Changes At The Ricoh (4 Viewers)

The one that sticks out for me is..
Bar 87 is to be renamed Bar 67. I know there is no reason for them not to, but what a fu**ing joke that is.

Others (taken from the Wasps' Forum)

- There will definitely be a timetable for buses from Warwick Parkway.
- There will be a shuttle service from Coventry.
- Car Park C actually has 750 spaces, not 500.
- Bar 87 is being renamed as "Bar 67".
- No cheerleaders.
- The stewards will be hired by the stadium. CCFC employ their own.
- The Coventry based Games-Makers from the 2012 Olympics, will be used as meeters and greaters on match days.
- Wasps will met with all stewards and meeters and greaters to explain how Rugby works and what the Wasps match day experience is about.
- Fully branded new shirts will take 12 weeks from the announcement (so mid-January), as that's how long Kukri need.
- Pins & Stripes will be selling licensed range for formal wear (including tweed jackets) in the shop.
- Tickets for Troops will continue. Ticket deals offered to Warwickshire Police and emergency services and armed forces.
- They will look at a flexi ticket for 6 games next season.
- They will look at a legacy membership for current STHs who can't make every game.
- Food for STHs at the first game will be in the Jaguar Hall. There will be bands and rides from the Winter Wonderland event. The hall is used most Sundays, so may not always be available.
- England ballot to stay for STHs.
- 30,000 flags on orders for the first game.

- Cask Ale bar to be kitted out for the Irish match - prices being looked at to make sure they match high-street prices.

- Mulled wine and mince pies at the Irish match.
- Wine and Champagne bar at the Irish match.
- They are looking to commemorate the final game against Castres, but are unsure how to - suggestions welcome (I've suggested a public flogging of Stuart Barnes...)

Seems incredibly commercial, I'm glad I hate Rugby.

Personally, despite liking the Ricoh, I can see myself wanting us to move quite quickly once we see all the Wasps badges and colours splashed all over the stadium.

Take me home, Highfield Road.

I honestly don't give a flying F!"ck about this or Moonstone, part of MGI Fiduciary Services (Malta) that own the Ricoh. I feel at the end of the season we will be kicked out of the stadium that is what we as fans need to worry about.

They won't kick us out, they want our money.

Ah but he didn't flinch after flogging Wilson, Murphy and Christie but threatened to walk if he couldn't be at the Ricoh...Yeah Right

Didn't flitch!! No point didn't have a choice.

Good bit of business by Mr Waggott had to pay the players some how?

Why did he not have a choice about losing a player but has a choice about stadiums we play in?

Because they both gave Sisu what they wanted??

Not rocket science really is it.

It must be as it is a bit strange to think he has no control over players going but can have control over the stadium, the whole approach SISU have had towards it, the whole gameplan etc.

There is a 2 year + year (option) contract in place so there is no chance to be kicked out at the end of the season, unless sisu stop paying rent or something. I don't think we know if the option part of the 2 years is something either side can decide they don't want though but its kinda irrelevant they arn't kicking us out whatever, it makes absolutely no sense to. They are trying to build a fanbase in Coventry while there is handful of wasps haters now most recognise they actually havn't done anything wrong to us at all (weather they have to their fans is another issue) kicking out ccfc makes them the enemy, it would be foolish, Then there is the more direct benefits of the rent and the increased footfall to the arena and ricoh business. The only downside is increased pitchwear but they can get rid of the u21 games etc that are there this year. Hire some more groundstaff and it will be fine. Zero chance of us being kicked out as long as we pay rent.

Nope, it's the same as being the root cause of this.

Those most disengenuous, most keen to point fingers and deflect are those like you, with most to feel guilty about...

I only point fingers at Sisu and those that support things like Sixfields move and the new "Timpot Stadium"

OK, then. So people going to Sixfields índirectly ínfluenced' SISU and helped, by your reasoning, to ensure we didn't get a slice of the Ricoh pie? I presume then you would also level the same reasoning to those who wrote to the Council asking them not to ever sell any of ACL to our owners?

I assume these unknown people were Coventry ratepayers rather than CCFC Fans?

I still think I am the only one who thinks it is a coincidence that we came back and a couple of weeks later wasps bought the Ricoh?

I assume Sisu got word this was happening beforehand and the realisation of a long term future at Sixfields hit home.
Will we ever find out if Wasps would have let us back?

The 50% deal for ACL on offer has been proven to be one nobody wanted.

Arguably, there was no need for the parties to move on said deal as long as the club took no confrontational action. Statements in the media from various parties undoubtedly back up this supposition. Conversely, statements from the club undoubtedly show they had no interest in the stadium as that would require a long term commitment. It does appear all parties were happy with the status quo, and had no desire to attempt to move from it. As soon as they did... then that's where trouble reared its ugly head.

36.7%, 36.6%, 36.7%

Six of one... 110% of the other.

So, what does this show? Ultimately it shows the folly of being taken over by a financial institution with a reputation for no compromise. However, take this out the equation and Wasps have indeed proven that the setup as constituted was flawed, and that nobody would go near it under those circumstances. It also shows why Wasps were never, *never* going to go in 50/50 with CCFC... or anybody else, for that matter.

However... what's done is done. And the approaches now have to be (with shades of grey in between):

Hope that CCFC grind out Wasps in terms of who loses most money quickest, and are able to move in when Wasps bog off;

Accept CCFC will be limited in what they can achieve, and campaign for a rental deal with Wasps/ a partnership with Aston Villa and/or Leicester City;

Campaign for both SISU and CCC to get together for consultation on where a ground could and should be built within the city;

Write to every possible white knight in the world;

Go for the extreme option, and get it over with quickly by campaigning for the club to be wound up, so it can start afresh (maybe at the Butts?) and have a chance to grow organically to its 'natural' level, unfettered by the past, legacy debts, and historic grievances.

Or... we can hunt out a scapegoat, where they all probably deserve to be anyway.

Confirmed !!

FFS. You were shocked, giving up your support, finger pointing, banner waving and generally waving your pitchfork about because CCFC moved to Northampton. Yet, you think Wasps moving to Coventry is great and you'll be going to watch. Not a thought about the rugby team already in the City, not a thought about Wasps fans, not a thought that this will probably mean CCFC will move again in the future... I tend to agree with NW.

So I can't support Wasps and CCFC ?

Surely you can see that CCFC and Wasps were moved for different reasons?

Are you really concerned about Wasps moving here or is your real point that they have taken over the Ricoh ?
If they moved into Broad Street would you really be bothered?

I can't see many real protests from CRFC or Wasps fans.

For Coventry this is a major boost to the economy and prestige for the City.
For the first time the Ricoh is becoming the complex CCC envisaged it would be.
Unfortunately our owners SISU did not take up gauntlet and now CCFC and us fans have been pushed into second place.

However people need to realise that, although not ideal, second place is okay with a good deal from Wasps.
That will not happen with continuing the JR and pushing on with the new stadium.
We (you!!) need to target your anger at Sisu to make this happen.

I just think it is strange how we had crap attendances for a year, losing money etc and then we come back just as Wasps are buying us. I think that SISU got wind of it and brought us back to maybe try and make it harder for it to go through maybe? Just think it is too much of a coincidence that they suddenly started worrying about the losses just as wasps were buying ACL then rushed back shitting themselves.

How about view it the other way around.....

...We know that WASPS & CCC/ACL have been in dialogue for several years......OK, fair enough, initially WASPS were sounded out (or courted) as a drop-in should CCFC leave......

....but who is to say that these preliminaries didn't develop to the point that the deal included a tenant for WASPS to ensure a base level of turnover/footfall/cash to help bed them in & cushion their inevitable losses for the first couple years....

Maybe...just maybe, the back-stabbing ACL/CCC tossers welcomed CCFC back on a 2 + 2 year deal just in time to ensure their sale went through on the agreed terms.....

.....or maybe the Sisu cunts were just totally clueless as to the impending deal....

Eh...Eh..think on folks!!

If you new that they were in dialogue for several years then it is inconceivable SISU did not know.

OK say the agreement required an anchor tenant , where in your supposition does the fact that SISU actually agreed a deal that was good for their business model come in? Well at least better than Northampton. If they were aware of WASPS or not it still is a temporary deal that would also help CCFC minimise their losses whilst funding their new stadium.

You are looking for a conspiracy that I don't really believe exits , it does however shine a torch on SISU incompetence. They are the custodians of the club and they alone are responsible for their actions

Both moved for money, one trying to make money for the team they own, one trying to lose money for the team they own and the stadium they don't, if you consider these reasons equal then there is no discussion to be had.

Italia, I cannot see your logic, I really can't. You are trying to make what SISU and Wasps have done as two separate issues; one being bad and one being OK. That's nonsense. SISU should not have moved CCFC and Ricahrdson and his hedge fund should not have moved Wasps.

You say there is a major boost to Coventry because of Wasps, well what about their fans? What about Wycombe businesses and WWFC? So, what about when CCFC moved. Was there a boost to the economy of Northampton? I'm sure the businesses around Sixfields did well, didn't they even with a small attendance? And what affect did that move have on businesses around the Ricoh?

I know you're struggling with all this, but your over zealous support of an enterprise which has done exactly the same as SISU (which you universally condemned) makes you look like a fool. And your continued justification makes you look more foolish with each "yeah, but..." post.

SISU and WASPS are the SAME. They are both only interested in MONEY they DO NOT CARE about their FANS.

Surely you can see that CCFC and Wasps were moved for different reasons?

Yes we moved for money so that in years to come we can be used as an example of how to lose money.
Talk about the Tim Fisher book of Loony Tune Economics.

Looking forward to my free Wasps tickets to be sent c/o Arena 2100
Fantasy Park

Hope you can tell I really want to go.

Really? How much money did we make by moving to Suxfields? Was it so much that we could afford to come back

I'm a CRFC fan - in fact I've been to more CRFC games than CCFC games over the last couple of years. I'm not happy about what's been done to CRFC. I'd much rather you didn't pretend to speak for CRFC fans when you've clearly no idea how we feel. It's actually kind of offensive.

As for Wasps, it's a convenient pretence that their fans aren't bothered. Here's a straight question on one of their boards - how many of their fans said they were happy to move?

http://www.rugbynetwork.net/boards/read/s96.htm?98,14923654,page=1

Like CRFC fans though, what's the point in protesting, it's a done deal. As fans who suffered for a year when their club was moved 35 miles away 'temporarily', I just find it incredible that anyone here could posit the idea that a large number of Wasps fans wouldn't be equally or probably more upset. It's just a denial of the obvious to try to avoid being called hypocritical, imho.

And yes, I'd also be aggreived if Wasps landed at (say) Broadstreet rather than the Ricoh, because it would still be a franchise, and it would still limit CRFC's ambition. Neither of those things is acceptable to me.

So, a question for you. What kind of good deal from Wasps do you think is achievable? Do you think that SISU don't want a good deal from Wasps for some reason? I'm not at all clear what you're asking people to do here. Get angry at SISU? Is there anyone here that isn't?!

Edit: And the major boost to the economy thing. I hope you're not buying the £6m a game bullshit touted by the council - that's laughable.

The simple fact is that limiting CCFC's ambitions with regard to the Ricoh, will probably limit their ability to thrive as club. It might even lead ultimately to them leaving, or possibly folding. Any of those things happening will have a far more negative effect to the city than Wasps arrival here.

Anyway, this argument's been made by me enough now. Whether you accept it or not is up to you, but there's no need to pretend that either Wasps or CRFC fans are happy about them turning up at the Ricoh - look for your justification elsewhere.

So let's say we build a new stadium. (And to save you excuse of ignoring the comment by saying that it won't happen we will for arguments sake say it will) I assume given your support to the Wasps move you will be happy to support CCFC at their new, purpose built stadium in or very near to Coventry.

When in reality what will happen if a new stadium is built is that you will castigate the 'owners' for moving the club to somewhere 'in the Coventry Area' and will incessantly go on about the injustices of it all, not for one moment considering the staggering hypocrisy of this.

Ha! Another fool who is desperate to make out poor Wasps had no choice. They did.

I haven't made any judgement on WASPS decision, I simply am not informed enough to know what options were available to them and what they had tried in the past, I don't know if this was necessary or even if its a good decision. I wasn't trying to make out anything, you are an idiot as usual. I have no emotional attachment to wasps, no feelings about them at all really other than being disappointed there is no easy route for us to own our own stadium anymore and I won't be attending their games.

Nick (and liked by you as every idiotic post is) is inferring that because the motivating factor behind the movement of wasps and the movement of ccfc is money that they are somehow equatable acts. That's nonsense of the highest order, wasps were moved for the financial benefit of wasps (and yes the the plan is for that to lead to financial benefits for their owners), our movement was not done for the financial benefit of ccfc, in fact it was done despite the incredibly obvious and massive financial damage it would do to ccfc, so they could inflict financial damage on ACL.
