Who's going?

I doubt many children will be there, if you wanted to take a 5 year old he would be charged £16, disgusting!

Will be there, easy on the train lots drinking places in Birmingham, always decent, easy on the train from new street to walsall and back again. A few of us going over early doors.

I'll be there. Not exactly looking forward to it after recent matches, but im a sky blue and ill continue to back my boys. Plus, Walsall is a special place for me. Last season's 1-0 victory was my 1st ever away win

Looking forward to it, even if it is only for a day on the piss.

It's got to the stage that I go to away games knowing we will play shit, so i try and enjoy the day before and after!

Shakespeare in Brum seems a good meeting place. Plenty of choice for pre match beer in Birmingham but not sure about Walsall??

The Shakespeare is the main football related pub in the city centre constantly used by visiting supporters, plenty around it too if you know where your going, you can grab a train direct to the bescot for like 3 quid return, so it makes plenty of sense to drink around brum, when their is literally no boozers in walsall itself anymore.

It says tickets will be removed from sale the day before the game. Read into that what you will, but I wouldn't rely on buying on the gate. Even if there are tickets to sell on the day, they'll be snapped up sharpish so if you can, get them beforehand

Made me laugh that some of them couldn't quite grasp the intent of irony with the ad. Conversely, top marks to them for a lack of typo's. What with possessing six digits on each hand I'm sure it can get a bit tricky, like.

Walsall fan here. I think most on that forum get the irony with caps suitably doffed for a good piece of work. Others inevitably don't get it.

As I posted on here a couple of years ago when we re-locked horns for the first time in a while, try as people/press might, I don't think there's any great feel of a local derby in terms of rivalry. The West Midlands isn't even a proper county. We'd like to be hated by one of the other two "Black Country" (inverted commas due to the fact that neither of them actually play in the Black Country) but can never really be anything more than an occasional irritant (like when we beat the Orange clad biggest team in the world -ever, on their own patch last year). Our traditional rivalries where there's some good old mutual contempt are with Shrewsbury and Vale.

The game at your place was quite tight. Contrasting styles but on the day yours was more effective and by the end we were happy to get out with a point. We brought around 1,100 which in the run-up to Christmas wasn't bad and whilst I get that we're "the smallest club in the Midlands" we always take a good proportion of our home attendance away. Similar proportions would see you bringing around 2,000 on Saturday. Which I hope you do - we need the money ( the rent doesn't pay itself as you know) and sadly these days we need a decent away following to create anything like an atmosphere.

We're on a decent run right now and due to cup games if we win by more than Fleetwood win, we'd jump six or seven places into 6th. It'll be tight again but I reckon we'll shade it.

We played decentish last match against Chesterfield, if Pressley continues to be positive and pick an attacking line up I think we can win. I like Dean Smith as a manager though, he has you playing decent stuff so it will be a very tough game, if we go back to performing like we have over the last 2 months though it could be a comfortable home win.

Few of us going on the train straight to the club outside the ground few sherbets to dampen the pain and then off to the match..

Good win I reckon PUSB
