You have to say something is wrong here with the number of players who leave, particularly youngsters, having been written off as not up to standard and immediately start playing better and doing well for teams higher up the FL than us.
Good to know that one goal for Daniels instantly makes letting go of him a mistake despite consistently not looking good enough while here.
A person I know involved in the Youth set-up told me that Daniels felt he was being pressurised during his spells in the first team and was feeling 'burnt out'. He (person connected with the Youth team) actually blamed SISU more than SP.
Now Pressley says he didn't want him to go......
.....he's not put daniels anywhere near the first team this season bar 1 JPT game.

When he sees how the players chosen ahead of him have fared, can you blame him? He's certainly been leapfrogged by Finch with little justification (other than Finch being defensively minded!) and Barton brought back from the bomb squad over him. To all intents and purposes, it looked like Daniels was being frozen out. Odd way to treat a player who you "didn't want to lose"!

Wants to keep Daniels - Never plays him
Wants or has wanted to get rid of Tudgay, Miller, Barton, Jackson at some point this season - plays them
Steven Pressley logic
But nobody looks good here at the moment, what is your point?
Well I'm not talking about now seeing as he's not played for months. Bar the few goals he scored at the start of the last season, which hardly anyone on here even saw considering two of them were scored at Sixfields, he's never looked good enough. Are people forgetting when he couldn't get a look in in League Two on loan last season or does only this move count as him being a success? Typical Cov fans making rash judgements after 1 game. If the show was on the other foot and we'd signed Daniels from Notts County with an identical record and he's scored on his debut you lot would all be telling us not to get ahead of ourselves as it's only one game.
Yep I've heard similar with Willis through a workmates family connectionA person I know involved in the Youth set-up told me that Daniels felt he was being pressurised during his spells in the first team and was feeling 'burnt out'. He (person connected with the Youth team) actually blamed SISU more than SP.
I think mst people saw his goals as we have tv's/internets
Who has looked good enough?
Barton couldnt get a look in at Fleetwood, yet he doesnt look anything special
If we signed someone from another team with an identical record and he scored for us I'd be pretty fucking happy

Same with Jordan Clarke, ironically the ones he didn't back go on to be a goal machines at mk dons an Gillingham
It's not about just seeing the goals on the internet. It's about watching the game and seeing how he played, and part of that is exactly the point I'm making. People are judging Daniels off of a few goals they saw him score on YouTube last season as opposed to his actually performances in better sides where he looked out of his depth, and even this season when he played an looked dreadful. Yeah, you can say that no-one has looked good this season but bar the very start of last season Daniels hasn't never looked like anything amazing. I don't understand your point about Barton either? What exactly is that supposed to mean? At the end of the day he's scored one goal and some people on here are acting like we've let our best player go. Nope. We let go of an average player who never really looked up to standard in this league. He might have success at Notts County, he might not, but let's wait until he played more than 15 minutes of football before we started acting like we made a massive mistake letting him go.
Just seen Daniels goal
Absolute rocket volley into roof of net from edge of area.
Adams and Daniels in the side and we'd be top of the league.
I don't think that anyone is saying that, more that players under-perform with us and we do let players go that we should have kept.
Just like the one Conor Thomas could have scored on Monday nightHere is it

That sorta rubbish would never happen in a Steven Pressley team.
I'm guessing he probably played striker when he came on, like I said before I didn't really rate him but Pressley the idiot tried to convert him into a defensive midfielder.
I believe all that started with Thorn, who used him as the defensive midfielder in the diamond system.
Sweeping generalisation that could be applied to many clubs.
No they bloody aren't! We're talking specifcally about Daniels and Adams. Daniels should have been given an opportunity as an attacking midfielder rather than frozen out for, generally speaking, more defensive options; Adams should have been kept because he was the clubs best LB, but we let him go rather than pay the fee that was required after 50 appearances-and presumably because Pressley wanted Pugh rather than him.
As for players underperforming here, do you not agree? Didn't you say that Jackson was better than Wilson? What's the manager doing to bring him down to L2 standard, then?
Jackson will score for fun for us in League 2 next season.
