As no one else is replying...went to Wharfedale on Sat and the Cov lads deserve huge respect for getting a win in horrible weather/pitch conditions. To keep it ccfc linked, the atmosphere around Cov as opposed to ccfc v swindon just doesn't bear comparison. Already looking forward to Saturday and certainly a very welcome distraction from ccfc doom, court cases, council lies and rugby franchises. Plus at Wharfedale you get a pie, chips, mountain of mushy peas, gravy plus cup of tea for 5 quid. Makes you realise how much fans at other venues (eg the Ricoh!) are totally ripped off.

Sadly I was doing the driving :( Left W'dale feeling v happy and then couldn't believe the Cinderford score people were texting us with. Stopped at a pub in Otley to see football scores coming in and City were winning 1-0 so all was looking good. Shame about the next 15 mins but just made me even more glad to have headed north not to Gillingham.

The biggest Rugby and Footie comparison can be found on the Cov RFC chatroom where a group of Cov fans went for a beer after Wdale game and one of the Wdale forwards came in to do his part time shift behind the bar. One minute they are watching him on a feild against Cov, the next he's serving them beer. Can it get any starker than that???

I shall be having a few in the pub before, stroll over at 10 minutes to kick off and sit down with a pint to take in the atmosphere. Should be quality

Really looking forward to this match and day out in Costa del Cov. There is real anticipation about the possibility of winning 16 games on the spin and keeping right on the tails of the league leaders. Should be a good crowd, good atmosphere, good pubs around the ground, decent facilities for a pint at the BPA................In fact all the things I used to get going to the footie !

Kick off has been changed to 3:30 Wingy, if that helps. Suspect there will be a bit of a queue at the turnstiles though! I'll be there too, fwiw.

With regard to the Telegraph on the rugby page in I counted ten articles about Wasps (including one that makes me want to puke frankly, talking about the owner's courage and bravery in moving to Cov), and one about Cov RFC (est in town in 1874 and going for 16 wins in a row).

One article. You lazy bastards. If all you're going to do with regard to rugby is reprint puff-pieces from Wasps PR and ignore the team with Coventry in their name, then why bother employing reporters at all. Shame on you, CET.

As much as I'm miffed about the unethical franchise, I'm hoping Cov get a positive spin off from the Rugby fans in town, that's why they moved the kick off anyway. It would be excellent to get a few hundred Leinster lads and lasses down there for the craic. If franchise RFC can get 22,000 at the Ricoh, then surely the local side on such a good run can get at least 10% of that ?!

I’ve not missed a home game now since being captivated by the Ealing game. I really look forward to it and the last time I felt like that was during the Gordon Milne era with Fergie and Wallace banging goals in for fun.

I’ve finished with football now, had enough of it generally and can’t see me ever returning. In a way I’m thankful for the rubbish served up this season as I would probably never have discovered this new found enjoyment.

There is most certainly very little enjoyment at the City these days. It is pretty much nearly all doom and gloom.

I have never been to a rugby game in my entire life, but I am severely tempted to go.

Will be in the bar at 2pm to avoid the queue at turnstiles. Its great going to a game where everyone is friendly and with smiles on there faces.

Ok the facilities are not fantastic but if you get the performance and entertainment on the pitch the rest does not matter.

Why not give it a go today Otis? It's only 15 nicker and what you'll see is 100% commitment and passion from 15 players representing Coventry. From a sporting perspective, it's made me feel proud of the city once more. You'll also get treated like a civilised adult and you'll be able to enjoy a reasonably priced pint anywhere in the ground.

Don't knock the facilities Steve, they're perfectly adequate for everyone's needs. At least you can come into the warm at half time and watch a bit of TV instead of freezing your knackers off at the Ricoh.

Very true.
The point I was trying to make is that of the match day experience at the Ricoh and the new stadium fantasy. If there is a performance on the pitch (win/draw/loose) it does not matter about the facilities.

Suppose the worry is though, Ash, that the next time both teams are at home at the same time, with Cov are having such a whale of a time, there's a danger City fans may desert the football and go and go up the Butts Park Arena instead.

Marvellous day out in the City again. Started off on Craven Street for a few beers, then a couple more in the clubhouse. Another good game of Rugby at the BPA with the opposition well up for stopping our run. I have to say the crowd was slightly swelled by folk coming from the match at the Ricoh wearing both Wasps and Leinster colours. Afterwards we went back into town and the atmosphere was excellent in the Old Windmill and the rather nice Turmeric Gold, full of Rugby fans of all denominations with Cov, Wasps and Leinster shirts brushing shoulders. Not comfortable with the 'Wasps' situation but you can't deny that first class sport brings plenty of cash into town, certainly all the non Cov rugby fans in the Old Windmill were either Southern based Wasps fans or lads over from Dublin.

I'll be at Richmond tomorrow for my first away match and really looking forward to it. The train down, a few beers in the Triple Crown and another win for Cov to cap off another great day out.

Ealing is the big one at the end of March - loads going from Cov.

Yes we shall be on the 9.00am train out of Cov in the morning, no idea where we are drinking yet but may stay for a few in the Centre around Westminster before getting the District line down to Richmond ! Can't wait C'mon Cov !

It's about time they started attracting some attention outside of Coventry ! Be great to make it 17 in London with the bottom side to come at home next week !

Where are Ealing tomorrow
I'm hoping it's a muddy Snowy pitch up north somewhere and see them slip up again
