I would go back to those three draws now. That one away to a team that got promoted. The next one to the league favourites. Then the poor draw at home to Bury. Add DMC as we did. Then see how the season pans out. As oppose to the knee jerk sacking and what has since followed.

He was more a knee-jerk appointment.
What followed was(eventually), the appointment of Mark Robins, a far, far better manager than either Thorn or Pressley.
Besides, in your world, a draw away against a team who were last season a Championship club should be considered a good result.

Ha ha, just about to post the same! I remember getting to that ground which was hidden in rows of houses and thinking 'welcome to the championship'. We played them off the park and filled half the stadium. Piece of piss it was.....then reality set in a few games later. Now reality is firmly kicking us in the head!

I would say that SP has already taken the title.
We had the best strike force last season. And scoring 4 goals didn't even mean that we would win. He has even made subs to defend when losing. I wish I could come out with some good points on SP. The only one I can think of is that I can't see them extending his contract again.

We never had Robins. After we sacked AT we did it as a knee jerk as we had no one else lined up. We had a horrendous record after his sacking until finally Robins was taken on. That season was trashed by allowing AT to sign 9 players saying we will back him to the hilt then sacking him.
You either sack him at the end if the season or January of the following season at least.
Not after three games. That squad was capable of the play offs if DMC as planned was added to it. The decision to sack after three games was ridiculous. Two years later we are in the same boat with a worse squad.

Bob i agree with you but be ready for the "We will miss you comments".. What is sad is still so many think that going is somehow helping a resolution to this problem,, im not knocking those who go, but i just dont understand that giving money to the owners to carry on is in the long term interest of the boys they are shouting for.. i know i will be told different but its my opinion, i dont slag people off who go to Ricoh, NTFC or even go the Rugby at Ricoh or BPA..
People pay to be entertained and to have a good day out with friends and family and at this moment the club is offering nothing or doing anything to enhance this.. It is no shock the other clubs in the area are seeing a rise in attendance and interest in results.. Fans are protesting with thier feet and until the club changes its veiw's or goals more will wander away every week.. I will not blame them or ridicule the ones who still go, neither should they ridicule others that have broken the habit and are seeking better ways of spending hard earnt money....

You might recall we didn't even win a game until Robins was appointed, which says much about Thorn's signings and his general organisation. We lost MR to a team from a higher league which in my mind means he must've impressed in his time here, whereas Thorn's next port of call was at Kidderminster and he was sacked in almost record time there. Fisher and Waggott realised the gravity of letting this clown have a full pre-season and that it was not going to get better.
