Mowbray already planning for next season- SP took the database. (14 Viewers)

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has revealed that he has already began preparations for next season.

The Sky Blues boss has already looked at getting in new players, current players' contracts and redecorating the training ground as he looks to continue to build the club.

But Mowbray is aware that circumstances will change if City don't survive in League One and is eager to do all he can to prepare for next season within the current circumstances.

"To be honest I've only been looking at contracts and things in the last week, but I'm forward planning only for being here," Mowbray said.

"I'm here to put this club up the league, out of this league and beyond. The worst case scenario is that we have no idea where we're going with only 13 players, which aren't really 13 because some of them are young players. We do need to increase the numbers next season.

"Is it a positive that there are so many players out of contract in the summer? Maybe, if the right players come in.

"I have sheets of paper on my desk who we need to target in the summer.

"But there are no scouts and no database of players. Wherever I have been before whenever I have left, that database stays with the club, I don't take it with me, we need to build a scouting system at this club. If it means us having one player less to do that, so be it, I want us to build a scouting system all over the world.

"I also want to see the clubs ethos all around this training ground. There needs to be a passion, a drive and desire, a Coventry way. Like a glue it will bring everything together.

"You have to have standards, run a football club properly. Be organised, be the best team. I want to give players a place of work that they are proud to come to."

Mowbray had his first week of training with the players without having a two-game week within the fixture schedule.

With a full week on the training pitch after the defeat to Doncaster, Mowbray has stressed that the side need to cut the mistakes out of their game in order to climb up the League One table.
He continued: "They are a hard working bunch of footballers.

"I've enjoyed it, we've had to balance training with rest though, we've played a lot of football of late so it's all about getting the balance right. We've completed preparations on the opposition and we go into the game in good mood.

"Cut out the mistakes and we're a very good side. I'm trying to get the best out of our footballers, talking and coaching them through. You can coach a team and give them a philosophy but moments in the game can puncture that. So we need to remove the mistakes and if we do, we can be a threat to any side in the league."

Well if Pressley's data base has the same quality footballers on it as the ones he has left us with he can stick it where the sun don't shine.

Nice one Pressley you prick. Although as Rupert says above, it could be a good thing in the long run.

Isnt every team??????

Aren't players who consistently keep making mistakes simply not good enough?

It's kind of like me being a decathlete who is great at 8 out of the 10 disciplines and naff at the other 2.

Surely the club paid for this database, surely they funded the scouting operations? therefor it should be ours? SP is a thief, get him in the dock where he belongs! ;)

Maybe the database is the reason for SISU not wanting to give SP what his contract is worth. From the players he brought in it must be worth a tenner.

Surely SW can answer questions about the database as he was the football development officer!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the club is ran so poorly that TM is highlighting things that every club has and should have in the country.. Even non league have an idea of what is around them,, SP is mad with the owners due to him standing by and painting a picture of all is rosey in the garden,,TM is not the same man or has the same desire to work with his hands tied behind his back...

He will get staff he wants or he will be out (Venus,Procter), he will get the players he needs or he will be out, he will get the tools he needs, scout (paid) correctly, training facility correct, and any other requirments or he will be out. SW and TF need to go as most of the things highlighted have been caused while under their leadership, its a disgrace that only 13 pro including 6 kids are left at the end of this season.... That is the most damming statement of how this club is being ran,, no short, mid or long term plans just stumbing from 1 week to the next..

TM was needed to save us being relegated but might not what SISU were looking for off the field very honest guy and will not be scared to say what he see's and thinks,, he is playing the tune now not Sisu telling what to play......

As I pointed out yesterday..:D

If the club don't own the rights to any work done by their employees then they are badly run indeed.

Can we expect another court case where SP is sued for stealing club assets any minute now.

Surely the database was created on a computer and there must be a digital copy of it somewhere? Do they not know how to back up?

If I was leaving my job I'd take as much info as I could if I thought it would help me in another job - especially if I'd been fired. If the company has given me their own copy then that's their stupidity.

If your work quality is anything like Pressley's you would need a fucking miracle not a usb stick.

I am really confused now. I thought all the players we signed are nothing to do with the manager and it is all down to Waggot?
Do I need to put down my pitchfork and stop chasing Waggot out of town?

No, Mowbray is making it up and is a SISU puppet.

TF and SW keep telling us how thoroughly and professionally the club is run, how it is run like a club at Championship level yet we have no scouts or scouting database. TM tells us this is standard practice at every club he has been at.

If the scouting systems are in place...the information would still be there.

It it appears no scouting system is in place, which explains why our club has signed players of poor quality. It also shows TF and SW are not doing their jobs.

Tbh a lot of this seems incredibly stupid and naive but I for one would not be too bothered
if we were down to 13 players at end of season personally. The more we can use a massive broom to sweep out the
rubbish, the lazy and the injury prone the better give tony a blank canvas to work with.

so actually I disagree disgrace down to 13 at end of season would actively encourage this!!!

And that SP is a liar.

Not if he set up his own network through his own contacts, hence why the data base is with him.

the infrastructure of the club is down to TF and SW. Remember how they said how professionally we were set up and ran like a championship club? Perhaps they are the liars?

Ah ok thanks it all gets a bit hazy. I think I am getting there though

good signing = manager if the manager is Robins or Mowbray
Bad signing = Waggot but can be AT or SP when suits any of the three will do.
Good Signing when Waggot and AT were around = it was the scout or the previous manager set it up.

We still need to chase Waggot out of the club over his shit signings for the club and we are still hoping Tim Fisher has some influence to save the day.

(We turn a blind eye to SP having a database of targets)

You seem to be having a breakdown.

Has your life size blow up doll of AT punctured through overuse?

Taking the database??? More like... When clearing his desk, SP accidentally put the only copy of Football Manager 2015 in his cardboard box.

The 13 players i would imagine are Burge, Reice-Cook,Haynes, Martin, Phillips, C Thomas, Fleck, finch,JOB, Swanson, Maddison, G Thomas and Willis, 2 more have options Reda and Pugh...So this massive broom you talk of needs to be more like a road sweeper as the above in bold will not do TM if he wants to compete and this check Sisu will write will not be there.. They will ask those here to solider on while asking the manager to groom the 6 youngsters they signed to pro contracts to compete week in week out.. So fresh start yes, but they cant be competitive now never mind to replace what they have and to add multiple players to help..

For me its a disgrace how the words are about progression when the actions are about survival,,, the fans are being cheated and young players like Haynes are being thrown in likes lambs to the slaughter.. Phillips, Maddison and Finch have all picked up injuries or been out of form i wonder why,, we have played them through desperation and even TM has spotted most are not up to being sent to do what experienced pro would struggle to deal with..

I have posted it before and will post it now,, a Maddison is great for a club but you put him with 5 others of his age or experience in a first team it will not develop the player but harm them in more than a few aspects.. He is our future in more ways than one if we play him fine,if we sell him to keep the club afloat them fine, if we play him because of necessity instead of development of the player, that is wrong and what is ultimately a disgrace of the situation we find the club in. TM has already remarked about this in regards to Maddison and Haynes, so if they back him fine if they dont he will walk and the kids will be left to carry the season next year...

No just that on a previous thread it was matter of fact for you that Waggott was scouting and signing shit players.

When it was suggested that the manager maybe identifying the players and Waggotts role maybe just to go get them. That none of us actually know what his role is when it comes to player recruitment. So how do we judge him till we know what it is first. You were quite adamant his role is both scout and going to get them.

Now it's quite clear you were once again speaking crap about something you did not have a clue about.

Let's find out what people's roles are before we witch hunt them shall we.

I don't think SP had a database of players for the fun of it.

Now SW may still be doing a bad job as he may not have been getting SP's first choices home.

However I would rather actually know what someone's role is than make it up then chase them out the club on the basis of stuff I made up

I'm confused. He had a database of players and waggots job is to secure contracts selected off the database.

Surely then waggot knows whose on it?

I am glad you admit you are confused. Before you knew exactly what Waggotts role is and why he should be sacked.

Non of us know. Maybe the SCG can ask and get some clarification

Unless we are working a very different way to the rest of the FL there's 2 main databases that are used, one called Wyscout and another similar product who's name escapes me at the moment. They are both subscription based services so its not hard for the club to sign up.

I therefore assume they are referring to something else and I am guessing that is the data about what SP thought we needed and players he had identified to fill those needs. Although I would have thought Waggott in his role should have that data as well.

Regardless of Waggy knowing the details, its surely company property and possibly theft?

I'm sure SW TF etc would be happy to let him keep a copy unless there's anything confidential in it. But if its the only one, he needs to return it.

Surely we could just hire Paolo di canio to break into pressley's gaff and get the database back
