My grandson was a flag bearer on sat. local team of 8 year olds. All the parents and trainers were charged full price for tickets, and the kids had to pay as well.
The kids were fetched from the seats in block next to JSB's went down waved flags ( got soaked by splinklers lol) then sent back.Met no one, no goody bags nothing.
8000 poeple in a 32000 stadium and they could not give free tickets or even concessions, what a bunch of ar*******. Me and grandson have season tickets so could use them,but what an opertunity wasted to get new young fans. SISU you are a discrace.

We got charge that for taking our 18 month old and 3 year old, £20 for them to go. We as a family haven't been since. They are completely free at the Speedway until the age of 11. What happened to carrying your kids in for free if they are not going to take up a seat?

Got to say they treated us well. Meet and greet at players entrance and free tickets for parents.

Me and my lad went to see Cheltenham Town when the Bradford game was off. It was £9 for him there. I don't think we're alone in charging kids. However, as RFC and others are always pointing out, get them a JSB membership and you get a free season ticket.

They are doing something but it's easier to moan, isn't it?

I think threads like this do highlight the confusion / lack of knowledge around pricing for kids from fans and staff. It needs to be sorted in time for next season and definitely get the marketing sorted.

I took my 6 year old for the first time on Sat and he seemed to enjoy himself. The Family Zone area was being packed away at 2.30, so don't know what 'entertainment' was on offer, but we did buy some merch from the superstore (trestle table).

I'm going to feedback to the club anyway, but maybe an organised group could do this too, maybe at a SCG meeting (would make a change from; 'you said you didnt like SISU' 'no I didn't'...)?

I think you are using an out of date stat there RFC. Like some boring old politician you cling on to anything that makes your cause look good rather than address the real problem.

re OP: When children are taking part in something at the club there should be at least one concessionary ticket for an adult. There should be some form of meet and greet and at least a club representative on the pitch.

Someone is always injured or dropped who could perform this: Pugh and Johnson for instance.

The kids should be given something free, i.e a programme or a team poster...hardly going to break the bank and after all we are making an investment for the future RFC.

Agree there should be some "reward" for flag waving. To be fair though before games in the zone down by the pasting tables there are activities before games and usually an injured player hanging around. I've seen Jordan Willis there before games (shame he wasn't there on Saturday). Volunteers run the JSB area and do a great job. SBiTC give two match tickets away for every participant and footballs are kicked into the JSB zone every match too.

I know they don't get everything right all the time but it's a shame more people didn't talk about what they DO rather than what they DON'T. Be a quiet thread though, I guess.

I know the club does some free tickets to schools but clearly not on the scale of Wasps. Most of those kids will be accompanied by a paying adult who will spend money on car parking and food and beverages.

I'd be more concerned about our own crowds if I was you. If all the ST holders who have said that they renewed in the warm glow of the return to the Ricoh and are not going and won't renew next season.

All 3 of my kids were fairly regular until the shits took the club to Northampton, it was the worst possible timing as they quickly adopted other interests and pastimes as did I. The dreadful negativity surrounding the club even since the return to Coventry hasn't helped at all. They are still Coventry 'Kids' as such and despite where we live in Leics, would still much prefer to watch the Coventry sports teams they grew up with. Sadly though they prefer outings at the BPA, Brandon or the Blaze to the football. Maybe if the owners are serious about mounting a challenge I can entice them back with the prospect of some much improved sporting days ?!

I am not even sure what the 50% refers to. There was a suggestion it was for the events side - Eastwood on CWR stated attendances were the main driver of the increase.

So if this is 50% over wasps pre Ricoh turnover it includes;

Increase in crowds of over 400%
A paying tenant
Increased F and B revenue of 400% and from us
Pre booked ACL events including one of the largest over the Easter weekend.

The statement in October by wasps said they would looking at turnover increasing by 700%

So surely the story is they are currently 650% below target,

If this percent really is before and after (and over what time period before btw) it suggests a hell of a lot of tickets are discounted and actual ticket revenue can't be higher than they at Wycombe given all the additional income streams

As for your dig about our crowds. I'm not worried, people will come or they won't. They will support their team or they won't always been the way. If Mowbray stays then I expect us to climb the table and subsequently the attendances will rise.
