Message to Sky Blues fans from Manager Tony Mowbray

Dear supporter,

With just two games remaining in League One, our destiny is very much in our own hands.

Survival in this division cannot be considered success for a club of the size and history of Coventry City, but it’s certainly the first step in being able to take things forward here.

We’re not safe yet, however, despite a good point away at Bristol City at the weekend, but we can make certain by winning our final home game against Crewe Alexandra on Saturday.

I’m really pleased that the club has cut ticket prices to £10 for adults and £5 for concessions and kids for Saturday’s game because I am a big believer in the part supporters play in a team’s success.

In our recent home draw against Oldham, the crowd wasn’t huge but the fans who were in made a real difference and, I believe, helped the team keep going right to the end which resulted in an equaliser in injury time.

It was the best atmosphere I’ve experienced during my brief time here and gave me a real taste of what it could be like if the ground was anywhere near full.

So it would be great if we could get even more supporters inside the Ricoh on Saturday for the final home game of the season and to enjoy that level of backing again.

My remit when I arrived was to ensure we stayed in this division and it would be great to achieve that together this weekend.

This is your club and you can play an important role on Saturday – we would love to see you there.

Tony Mowbray

The first inclination that he intends to stay perhaps?

I wouldn't say so, he's been talking like he intends to stay for the most part since he's arrived but I think Mowbray is just being professional, preparing for preseason and summer as if he will be here despite nothing being close to even being finalised.

Can't make it Saturday (other plans made months ago, I'll hand my super fan badge in later) but TM really needs to stay if we're going to move forward.

Is his record so far good enough for him not to be considered a Sisu puppet/mouthpiece? I need to know before I decide which way to take my comments on this thread.

Cheers x

Well, whatever the case I'd rather those sort of comments to ones distancing himself from signing a contract.

Good idea to get Tony Mowbray to do these press releases.

Better than the grusome twosome Fisher and Waggot!

I fear the message wont hit home tbh and many will invest when the owners invest.

Yes its a tenner but there is a far bigger picture than that. We struggled this year in leauge 1!

Why are CCFC so negative?

I haven't got that email. That's it. I am ripping up my season ticket and never going again.

Weirdly I never get emails from the club but I got this one!

Funny they must be taking a bit more notice of the treads on here.
I know they read them but they really need to listen to the supporters and then maybe they will get more on their side............

Or is it really to late to turn it around?

TM certainly seems to know how to engage with fans and seems to appreciate the value of it.
what I would like to see next is a two year plan rolled out by our owners having just got TM to sign a contract, detailing how the club will be restructured to produce and support better results on the pitch.

Actually I did get it so I won't be:

1. Crying on here about it
2. Moaning on Twitter/Facebook
3. Demanding my MP looks into it.

I love Tone me.
