Maddison on the spot... (9 Viewers)

Is it just me or are there a fair few articles for him recently? Who is his agent?

No pressure in this article Nick...he's obviously putting himself forward, no one's forcing him...

Obviously none of us knows him, however every comment I've ever seen about him is that he's a very confident person. I expect he's loving it.

Edit: I'm agreeing with you :)

I take it as local tittle tattle fueled by the doubts we currently have regards the manager and tiresome posters on here.

To be fair, considering that YouTube video of him "Madderz the early years" or whatever. I don't think he needs an agent, or us to worry about his confidence. He seems pretty good at self promotion himself (and why not, as they say it's not arrogance if you're actually that good).

I like his attitude but we really need to keep him out the limelight and stop bringing others to his attention.

Much rather we stay quiet and let him develop instead of the press bigging him up every 5 minutes, puts too much pressure on a kid.

Yes he's good and technically streets ahead of his age group but lets keep him under wraps for now before others pinch him and he ends up on loan elsewhere.

Jim OBrien was once good at pens. Reda likes a pen. I'm sure Proswitch has taken them in the past.none of theirs went in last season and I'm sure they were confident.

When you miss you need to be confident enough to say fuck off the next one is mine

So was Elliot Ward against Southampton....... One of the great penalties of all time!!

Another Maddison article today.

I don't doubt his confidence, would just rather it wasn't built up in case it does get too much if something goes wrong.

I agree. My biggest fear is that some will expect a first full season like Wilson had. Wilson had Clark to help him and learn from whilst taking the pressure off him. And as things stand we don't have another striker to go with him.

If you look at the penalties he's taken, you can see that he's letting the keeper commit before passing into the net on the other side. Very cool head.

Don't worry about it, people will be looking for the singer and not our "Maddison" ;)

I couldn't believe my eyes when I read this. I only had the chance to look quickly but I'm sure I saw that over half of our fans thought that Maddison (who has only played 18 games in League One) is worth more than Callum Wilson...a player who has notched over 20 goals in the Championship this season to fire his team to the Prem.

What the actual fuck?!

Sometimes it's not what a player has done but what he might do. As an example Aaron Ramsey went to Arsenal for £5m after 16 apps and 1 goal for Cardiff. Big clubs can afford to speculate.

Yeah, but I might become a professional football and sign for Barcelona.

I totally get what you're saying but there's no way whatsoever in any realm of fantasy that at this moment in time, JM is worth more than CW.

That's a huge dose of poetic license from the CET. People weren't given the option to choose £3m - the actual price paid for Wilson. And they weren't asked if they thought he was worth more than Wilson either.

A player is worth as much as someone wants to pay for them. The rest of it is what you believe it should be.

I and many others said 3m for Wilson wasn't enough. It now looks like SISU received 2.3m plus 3 poor loans. Certainly not enough. But some on here still say it was a good deal for our club. Good deal for SISU diabolical deal for CCFC. Wilson had a good season. He scored 20 goals and played a big part in their attacking style. But some on here tried to make out he would have been worth much less than the 2.3m SISU got for him if he would have stayed as he would have had a poor season against players much worse :D. Could they not have considered his goals and attacking style to what improvement that would have made to the rest of the squad?

Maybe the big clubs saw how cheaply we let Wilson go for and see Maddison as a cheap target. And the odds are he would be sold as it would mean another year of SISU not having to put a penny in. Quick prediction. However much money he is sold for will be a good deal for our club. And if he has a good season it will be because of the club he moved to and would have had a poor season if he would have stayed and been worth less.....and this will be a fact again like with Wilson.

Phew...that's a tricky one to unravel. Think I'll just stick with hoping we hold on to him!

Well then if that's true - i.e. we have to sell to balance the books - then he'll go. Don't understand why you think SISU would want to run a continual loss.

If they sell then replace it wouldn't be so bad. But look who we got after selling Wilson.
