Should be an interesting season coming with Mowbray and Adkins in L1.

Much will also depend on money available for players wages or transfers.

That's how I see it at the minute. Dependant on signings then I may get slightly more optimistic.

How much income do you think they get from owning their own stadium? Yes their gates are much higher than ours. But I would expect ours to be much higher if we are not near the bottom of the table as usual. And I would consider TM to be the most experienced between the two of them and to also have better contacts in the game. He even managed to get a good loan signing from Spurs just after joining us. And there is a good chance he will do something similar again.

Didn't someone quantify on here once that the profits after costs on a years pie and beer sales was around £100,000 ? We pay £100,000 rent now and I'm not sure about the Corporate arrangement/split ? but the difference between us and other clubs revenue streams { especially in this division} is not as great as SISU would like you to think.

So there is no need to own our own ground again? I am surprised that more clubs aren't looking at us with envy to be honest.

Owning our own stadium would give us one big thing. Security.

Would you like to let us know any other big points about owning our own stadium as you like to bring it up frequently. A few have even said that we will be in the shit until we do. The problem is they fail to back it up with facts. We are much better off renting the Ricoh for about the present amount than building one outside Coventry as they are suggesting. Why don't you have a go at Richardson for making us homeless instead of anyone else mentioning it?

I wouldn't be too sure on that. It has been a long time since we have had any success and the fans including the many stay away fans are all hungry for it.

I can tell you one thing all the lost fans will come back in droves BUT most importantly it all down to SISU's marketing strategy and there ability to promote this success to the masses.

You also forget the times when we were doing well and had some good run of games whilst we were in top flight at Hr , we were getting 18,000+ . A well known example of this is 86-87 season and when we had the six win streak in the PL under Gordan Strachan, There are many more I could add to this list .



When the team is doing well and are winning consistently the crowds will turn up and that implies to all teams in professional football. If the sky blues do well be it in cup competitions and especially if they feel there is a good chance of aiming for promotion the larger crowd will come back.

I can remember poor gates in the 70's against Sheff United and Middlesborough. Perhaps Highfield Road wasn't always the Mecca people remember? However, normally good sides playing well for City have pulled decent crowds.

it is the same everywhere I have lived Sheffield, Liverpool, Manchester and their conurbations, crowds reflect the teams performance levels. Villa have pulled 14000 in top flight before.

If you have a decent venue, which the Ricoh is (Exhibition Hall as well as internal facilities) then £2-£5m is easily achievable. I work with a number of venues across the UK and Europe who have facilities not as comparable (smaller) and they're turning over revenue within that bracket.

You're right about competition though...fair point. Comparably, you've got the NEC, NIA and the Telford Centre really. But if you've got a good sales team and a good operations team to help secure repeat business, £2-£5m for a venue like the Ricoh is an easily achievable.

Fans have been starved too long. They will return as soon as some success takes place on the pitch. Winning at home and vying for promotion (something we have not done in decades) will see regular crowds of 17/18k or more at the Ricoh even in league 1 because there will be a sense of us finally getting back to where we belong and that would be a tantalizing crowd puller. It's all down to TM and listening to his comments about Reda and aspirations of going up and trying to go up again is certainly encouraging and full of confidence.
