The more Wasps rebrand the stadium the more likely our medium to long term future lies away from the Ricoh, whoever our owners are. Time for some to start accepting that, and for the fans to start putting pressure on the council to find us a site within the city.

Seeing all of those logos for a franchise rugby team with no connection to the city, at the home for the football team, makes my skin crawl personally.
I don't think the day will ever come when I'll accept it, and I'll never knowingly give any support to Wasps whilst they're here.
No one here, absolutely no one, knows what the future holds for the club - so I can't see why anyone would say the best policy is to 'accept it'.
I hope whoever our owners are they're not so meek as to quietly accept a future for the club as subordinate tenants to a franchise rugby club. I'm surprised that so many fans here are, but then I guess it's all about opinions.

Just pointing out that if SISU were the least bit interested in building a ground there would have been some progress by now. A business plan, a stadium plan etc. it's been 2+ years now since they stated their intention to build a new ground and nothing. Shit, it's only this year they've met up with a local authority to discuss the possibility. Was this done seriously or because after false dawn after false dawn of an announcement being made in X amount of time, we've now narrowed it down to X amount of sites they had to be seen to be doing something proactive to appease the FL?
Anyone who thinks some multimillionaire is going to step in and build us a new ground is equally over ambitious.
Our only realistic long term future options are the Ricoh, the Ricoh and err the Ricoh. Baring a miracle. Our best hope of gaining control of any stadium is it all going pear shaped for Wasps. And I ain't holding out on that either.

If there IS somewhere to go and there IS money, then why the hell has nothing ever happened. It's all a nonsense. Empty rhetoric.
We have a place to play, it's here in Coventry and we simply need to focus on that instead of listening to empty promises from an owner who doesn't even want to be here.

We are at the Ricoh for the foreseeable. Whether we like it or not that is the reality. If sisu had spent early they could have picked up the stadium for a reasonable price. They didn't and we are where we are. If they spent less time in court and more on football we might have our own ground and we might be playing in the championship. But we are in tier 3 with no realistic chance of getting out this season. In my opinion sisu mismanaged their investment in the club (stadium and team) and are now at a loss as to how they recoup the money. Remember they are a hedge fund not a charity...they will act in the interest of money not in the interest of supporters unless the two coincide.

But unless wasps fail (and every single Coventry City fan should be boycotting them) then I can't see us being still at the Ricoh in 15-20 years time, in a wasps branded stadium.

If SISU had spent early the stadium would of cost far more than what Wasps eventually paid. The F & B alone was quoted at an astronomical price which in hindsight appears to have been used as a deterrant so the club couldn't buy it. The stadium was never offered to the club at a reasonable price. Just because Wasps eventually paid what they did it does not mean at any stage the stadium was available to the club at a reasonable price or offered to the club at a reasonable price. The evidence all points to the contrary. We all know the quotes, I won't bore you all. It amazes me the level of spite shown towards the club by the council. Not half as much as fans backing them and Wasps do though. The stadium was built for us, it's rightfully ours. Mismanagement led to the situation where the council were required to bail us out. Question is did they bail us out as we are the pride of the city, bring money into the economy, have a positive impact on the community or did they just see an opportunity for power, money and selfish glory? I know what I think

As a fan who used to absolutely love going to HR the atmosphere, the build up to the game and then going to a game with many fanatics, banter with the opposition keeper, banter with away followings, majority of the time it was a fun day win lose or draw.
To now going to a souless 75% empty shell of a stadium with little activity before the match, little walk up, lack of atmosphere, miles from the pitch, miles from away followings, sitting their looking around at empty seats, and a distinct lack of Coventry City signs around the stadium, with Wasps logos scattered around everywhere, it makes me sick to the stomach to see what has been allowed to happen to the fans of what was once a great club but is still on a life support machine.
For me the Ricoh has never ever felt like home from day one. I go because I love to watch my team play, but I despise the Ricoh, hence I travel away games frequently as it least theirs an atmosphere of some sort.

Tbh I like being able to have a drink, watch the early kick off and bet in a nice warm casino. Then stroll out at five to three just in time for kick off.
I appreciate the sentiment, but like you say a traditional day out at the football can be had at away games.

Why? How many other teams are so insecure in their identity that they feel the need to plaster their club badge all around the pitch?
As with most things Wasps have done there are alternatives that would have been more respectful of our club.
For example when they put their logo up why not make it the same size, it would have looked better IMO, the way they've done it just looks a mess.
Why not have dual branding on the main entrance, if I was running a multi use stadium I would be ensure that happens as I would want to promote the popularity of the stadium to others besides the owners.
When they plastered the tunnel with Wasps images why not make it temporary or put in a system that so that it was CCFC branded on our match days?
With these logos around the pitch again why not use a system that can be rolled out for Wasps matchdays but removed when the stadium is in use for other things?
When Wasps turned up we were assured they would be considerate landlords having previously been tenants themselves but that doesn't appear to be how things are working at all.

The council were always clear about retaining their shareholding in ACL, the court papers even talked about one of their concerns about SISU distressing the YB loan was that it'd make ACL vulnerable to a 100% takeover.

They have see the team relegated from the championship to league 1 with little realistic chance of being promoted in the foreseeable future (even with a well respected manager at the helm); they oversaw the catastrophic move from Coventry to Northampton...dividing and destroying the fan base; they have promised for at least the last two years a new ccfc dedicated stadium but not delivered (not even a plan let alone the purchase of land); they are embroiled in a long running court case that has done nothing for their reputation.
I am not saying they are singularly responsible for the demise of Coventry City but I am saying they the owners have presided over the lowest point in the club's history over the last 50years

I just gave an interpretation of what FP had posted. You gave an interpretation of nothing and are now trying to make out it was an intelligent well thought out reply. Like I said.
