Pre match pub with sky and food? (2 Viewers)

Afternoon ladies and gents, Forest fan here. Was hoping you could give me a bit of advice about my trip to your neck of the woods tomorrow.

I’m heading down early and get in a pub to watch the Man Utd v Liverpool match with a bit of grub and a couple of pints. Can you give me some suggestions on pubs with good food and sky? Preferabley near the ground with a car park so we can park up in the pubs car park and walk to the match.

I know from previous visits that there are not many pubs around the ground, so would it be better for me to go into the city centre to watch the match? Again, if this is the best option can you give me some suggestions on where to go and where to park.

Are you lot confident about tomorrow? I don’t remember feeling this unconfident apathetic and since the dark days of Megson when we were relegated to League One. Although I have a sneaky feeling we may win tomorrow, mainly because it seems you have so many injured you might even struggle to get a team out!

2-1 Forest, Miller and McGugan to score for us, whoever is fit to score for you!

Cheers, Old Big ‘Ed.

If you have no kids i would recommend the Casino. Not eaten in there personally, but i know people who have and have enjoyed it.

Perfect pre-match venue, but only for adults.

As for the game. I havent got a clue what to expect!

Where is the Hungry Horse by the way?

Brian Clough - There are many pubs, clubs on the Foleshill Road but they do not do food. However there are a few takeaways in the same area if that what you fancy?

It is the Bull and Anchor on Wheelwright Lane, nice place and usually a good pre match place.

If there is a game on before they do cheap beer (Premier League) but it does get rammed so buy 2 pints :)

Usually a few away fans in the bull and anchor. Usually couples and people who generally keep themselves to themselves or have a bit of a crack with the city fans.

Same as I used to drink in the Black Horse (away pub) and never had any trouble wearing a city shirt!

Thanks for the replies.

Hungry Horse seems like a good shout. You think I'll be alright getting in as an away fan if I'm early and not wearing colours? The pubs around the City Ground make you show your match tickets on entry to prove you're in the home end, which seems a little harsh.

I would say I'm looking forward to it....but I dont envisage the best game of football in the world!

Certainly nothing to compare with Hooters on the walk in to yours!

Fwiw I hate your new manager and worse still he'll get you off to a flyer tomorrow as we are hopeless. Always had a bit of a soft spot for Forest over the years but SC is a grade 1 clown.

go to the hub

And full of wannabe thugs.

Yeah, Hungry Horse/Bull & Anchor is a winner, family, food type pub and a 10 minute walk to the ground.

If you dont have kid's then like the comment above the Casino is a good shout. plenty of screens, decent food, wear your colours and even find out the team (it gets read out prior to the match)

Enjoy....Watch out though as Eastwood could play and he is due a bag full of goals.

You certainly can't be any closer to the ground than by going to the Casino (opposite the club shop). It's got loads of screens with Sky and lagers on tap. It's got an Indian Restaurant in there as well.

I havent tried the Hungry Horse and can't even claim where it is, but you wouldnt have any problems as an away fan in the Casino - you can even wear your colours no problem. Still, the Hungry Horse might be a shout if you like your traditional pubs.

It used to be called the Bull and Anchor back in the day
