I'm still annoyed that BT have taken the Champions League away from viewers who cant afford Sky/BT, but Europe's biggest club competition is back. So who is winning it this yea?

To me the Champions League is just like the Premier League full of hype.Give me the Football League or the Champiionship any day.Honest football played by honest footballers not overpaid prima-donnas !

The champions league is for the sky sports generation. It has nothing to do with traditional football and is more suited to those who demand entertainment rather than having a true passion for the sport

I like the Champions league personally. Too many boring group games tbh. But how can you not enjoy the best teams in the world playing each other?

The Champions League is the ultimate now. The highest level of football you can play.

I fancy Bayern this year.

I am watching only because BT started charging me for it so I feel I have to.

If De Bruyne is worth 58 million then Pogba must be worth about 200 million.

I think Bayern will win it.

Overrated in my opinion and not that entertaining.And as you write about age my son who's in his twenties prefers league football also.

Just heard the latest on his injury and it is a double break.So it was a bad one and a long lay off.I've suffered a double ankle break and was laid off for five months and I sympathise with what he's going through.Hope he comes back sooner than later.

Its also a shit formula of a tournament......

A team finishing 4th in their domestic league can then qualify into the group stages, get comprehensively beaten both home & away by another team in the same group, yet still qualify to the latter stages.......what dogshit.

Its all about generating cash (squeezed from the mug armchair fan TV subscriptions) for the already super-rich clubs.....

Utter shite. I haven't even bothered watching the final for the last couple of years.....

The group stages may drag sonetimes but the knockout games are quality.

Whisper this quietly but I actually enjoy watching Premier League too!

You say the Football league is crap and I've seen some poor games so you have a point,but I've seen some poor Premier League games and Champions league matches on the telly,and they're supposed to be the elite of football.So crap football isn't just associated with lower league then is it ?

Crap football's not exclusive to any division, but you can introduce probability into how likely you are to see quality the higher you go.

That goal won him goal of the month for League One. I reckon it doesn't matter what level you're playing at to score a goal like Armstrong's at Millwall takes confidence and skill,and if he scored that in the Premier or Champions League it would be shown over and over again.

No one thinks it's the best league in the world other than Sky's pundits who have to say it every other sentence to sell their product.

And even they look embarrassed about spouting it.

Since 2000 There have been 6 English sides who have won a European competition.

Spain have 23 winners in Europe in the same time, says it all.

I dunno, a lot of class teams will be lost if that happened.

I think the Europa League could be for Cup winners only and not CL also rans though.
