Anyone know whats happening with Blackpool? I'm aware home games are being boycotted but it doesn't seem they are attending away games in bigger numbers either?

as i posted earlier, it took weeks of chatting with fans who don't go & to elaborate, i jotted the responses down in my trusty notebook, perhaps i should do a formal survey,
the majority of those i spoke to didn't read this forum tho, & no i didn't count that %

Where were the fans? How did you find them all?

Seems a bit of a strange way to do it.

There certainly is a resentment/hatred for Tim Fisher amongst many supporters, remember most don't post on websites, he is seen as the link to the bad times and untrustworthy yet for some reason he is still here but appears to have been gagged. I myself go to every home match but bulk at buying a season ticket while that man is still here as i said for me he is untrustworthy, even his photographs look as if they have come off crime watch.

Most of the people I know who don't go on forums, social media etc and support CCFC wouldn't know who he was if they saw him walking past them.

If you go to every home game, why wouldn't you buy a season ticket?

i consider myself to be a fairly gregarious sort & enjoy company & conversation, whilst i enjoy reading & occasionally commenting on this forum, i am in no way a keyboard warrior, slave, or whatever.
i'd say that i'm out & about 6 or 7 days per week, so to me, it isn't strange to chat to people, particularly about CCFC, after all i've been a CCFC fan since the 1950's, which probably explains my modus operandi

How do you know these people you were chatting to were fans though is what he means I think, if I started up a random convo with someone in a store or busy street the likelihood is that they have no interest in football or support someone other than CCFC, if the people you asked hasn't been to matches somewhat regularly at some point in the last 10 years or just had little interest in football anyway then there response is largely irrelevant

There's a bloke who is always at the gym, every time I'm there you hear him on about CCFC, he is the sort where if somebody says they are going to the game he is like "Oh no what have you done to deserve that" every week. He only really knows what he reads in the telegraph, he hasn't been to a game since the Crewe game because he couldn't get tickets for Gillingham. If you hear some of the things he says it shows he hasn't really got a clue what is going on.

I have found that the people who don't come on forums, twitter etc are more interested in the football, they just want to go and watch a game rather than the politics of it all.

He sounds the sort of person who just isn't really interested in going but if asked directly would give some standard response about SISU, Fisher as an excuse.

Quite an old boy but you pretty much have him down to a tee.

several of the older variety may indeed come from the sweeping generalisation department, but that can & does apply to other age groups, maybe it's largely down to the persons own interpretation & understanding of circumstances.
perhaps you could say that if CCFC had a better PR machine over the last 7 yrs things may have different,
anyway, i shall continue to tell people to get along to see, & thus support CCFC, & ref the OP, what better time than this sat vs Blackpool

A lot of ageist comments creeping in here. Older people do not all think and act the same way. The fact is that once a fan is lost, it's going to be very hard (or impossible) to convince them to return and it will take more than a few loan signings and a few wins to achieve it. In my opinion, efforts will be better spent on attracting brand new fans rather than resurrecting former ones.

Either we haven't lost any fans from moving to Northampton or we have recruited brand new ones.

No one knows which it is but attendances are back to where they were -- actually marginally better
