Great news for us , i know he wants a coaching role when he retires and sounds like he admires mowbray , hopefully that will be the avenue he takes and stays at the club for a good while yet

Terminate his contract for free and he takes a pay cut. He really doesn't worry about the money. He's already a millionaire. He just wants to play a bit of footy. Fantastic story.

Don't tease us Joe, will make it all the more disappointing if he leaves.

This would be amazing if we could make this happen.

It's up to Villa what happens. I'm sure they'd let him stay longer - if we pay up - which we cannot afford to do.

pretty sure they would let him go if we gave them the right to match any offer accepted for maddison tbh , under Sherwood anyway this whole deal is down to Sherwood in my opinion Mowbray said Joe found us not the other way round and Sherwood has always apologized for his stint in 2004-05 maybe this is how he is making it right in his mind

He's one of the draggers. He drags us down and complains and criticises no matter what. There's a few. To be fair to him though as least he's still posting, he's not run for the hills like Dongo and the rest.

Fuck me, you're a glass half empty guy if ever I've seen one. Cheers up ffs

The reality is he likely has no future at Villa for whatever reason. Possibly he knows that he can't cut it at the top table any more, or maybe he just wants the buzz of being able to win "something" in his twilight years, rather than scrapping relegation fights for below average PL teams.

Well, as stated yesterday Villa have already sanctioned him playing in the First Round for us, so he can probably see himself that his Villa career is over. He won't be short of offers though. Until the end of the season would do me.

If he impresses in his brief spell here I would imagine clubs with a few more quid and maybe in the champ might come in for him.

I know it's not all about the money for him but if someone localish to here offers him double what we can he'll be off or am I just being pessimistic?

If he doesn't need the money, enjoys his time with us and can see a way of staying in football with us as a stepping stone why would he want to leave?

Facing reality maybe that League 1 is the best he can hope for?

Even for this place that has to be a record. Thread about a player of Cole's quality wanting to stay for the season and the first post is negative!

Great news for us , i know he wants a coaching role when he retires and sounds like he admires mowbray , hopefully that will be the avenue he takes and stays at the club for a good while yet

If that's the route he's looking to take we should offer something that will help him along the way. Help him get his badges, have TM mentor him, that kind of thing.

Sack that useless twat Fisher and give Joe gis wages problem solved.

I really doubt Fisher is paid over £1 million a year.

It is positive he is happy to stay, but still to many ifs, buts and maybes to get excited.

Remember most had Chris Eagles in a city shirt last week when he had barely completed one training session during a week's trial.

Not that we could afford it, as you say Gaz, but If Villa have any sense, would they just cancel his contract? ... surely there would be other clubs who would love to secure his services and could stump up a few bob to sweeten the vile. Joe might actually love our set up, but his isn't master of his own playing career, unfortunately.
