You clearly don't want to believe his continued presence is keeping people away so I'm asking how many do you think he's adding to our attendances?

So is him being here keeping thousands away or not? It is not that I don't want to believe it, if it was factual I would believe it.

That doesn't add up does it. Which is what got me thinking that CA not being a local and not understanding the difference between Coventry and the Coventry"area". Why would he understand the difference between them? Especially if his briefing on the subject came from TF, which is quite likely.

I believe the story has been updated today re a new stadium actually being in Coventry itself with the club actually asking for help from Coventry Council which is a huge volte face if true. The link to the story is via Les Reid on twitter, and will I suppose be in this weeks Coventry Observer,which I believe he now writes for.
It suggests that the Football League have actually viewed the suggested site in Coventry, the proof of the pudding will be inthe eating I suppose.

No. I think the outgoing man deserves the credit for getting him initially and dare I say it JS deserves the credit for him signing up full time.

TF has got himself in a position where he will never be forgiven for what he has done and also the way he went about it regardless of what joyous things he gets credited with in the future. That is reason enough for him to go. His position is untenable and that is because he is a victim of his own success, or lack thereof.

You also mentioned ticket prices, they are good now, the decision to close a stand had been good too. That's not me saying it was his idea, but with your logic he was in charge then so it's down to him.

I just don't think thousands of people aren't coming just because of tim Fisher.

If you start to say that performances and managers and bad results are down to him, then they have to be when they are good too.

I think it's another excuse not to go to games. If he went there would be the next excuse.

They have never returned as far as I know.
Nothing as weird as folk.

I'd agree... but funny how the passing of time and events makes me think a ground actually *in* the city is a start, at least!

It's also progress (albeit media progress) in starting the process of CCFC and CCC actually talking to each other, too.

The prospect of a new stadium obviously helps as a negotiating tool with Wasps, but only if it’s credible.

Rugby’s Local Plan deadline is rapidly approaching. Maybe they have asked for a better reason to allocate precious land than to compensate Mr. Fisher’s investors for their commercial/political problems with a neighbouring council.

And now we have this sudden switch to Coventry itself. If a genuine site has been found within the city, especially near the centre, it would be a pleasant surprise. Who wouldn’t want HR2? On the other hand, if it’s a silly proposal, the City Council would be forced to knock it back – which might suit some obscure game plan too.

Seems strange to me that the Football League have been asked to ratify it. They can’t give planning permission, they can only tell CCFC if it’s OK to move from Coventry to Coventry. And it obviously is.

Maybe they had to check the Football League would be OK with a few deckchairs around a pitch at the Memorial.

We've been here before, I'll believe there's a site in Coventry when I see it.

I'd agree, but CCFC and CCC absolutely *have* to talk to each other, so if a new man at the club and a statement they want a ground in the city helps to achieve that, I'll suck up and swallow.

Kind of. Except last time we had this conversation we came to the conclusion there was nowhere suitable. Also, are we going back to square one three years into this process? Are we dropping those sites we were close on for an as yet undiscovered site?

The councils position has been pretty clear from the start: give us a proposal. Unless we really are talking about sticking it in the city centre or Ricoh 2: Electric Boogaloo with a joint partnership I'm not sure what's needed other than planning permission. We didn't talk to Rugby until we had a site AFAIK.

I dunno, maybe I'm being over cynical, but I just see the same words we've had for years and exactly zero action. Show me the money.

Don't thnk over cynical, words are indeed cheap.

But... it's a damned site easier to get a stadium through with council support, a damned site easier to buy the land. The local plan changed to accept a stadium would be nice would help, too.

And the process has to start *somewhere*.

No, I won't believe it until I see it. But I'd be a lot more optimistic if I knew CCC and CCFC were working together to try to make it happen.
