After a superb display today, my only gripe is the concourse at half time. It's an accident waiting to happen down there when we've got a half decent gate. Wouldn't it be sensible to have queue barriers a bit like the ones at the new train station at the Ricoh outside food and drink Windows instead of everyone forming a line to the back wall. It really is chaos, Took nephew to his first game today as it was his 7th birthday, getting to the toilets was a joke.

Agreed. Toilets area joke re fans queueing. Especially with people entering the exits (some beer in hand).Surprised not more people irated during queueing. To be fair, most adults seem to shepherd the kids through, to avoid the crushing effect - but not nice for them

Yeah, glad I didn't bring the little one today. I ended up having to go into block 18 to work my way across back to block 20. It was gridlocked behind the toilet. Doesn't help when idiots are going in through the exit when everyone's trying to get out.

The main issue is that there should be another outside smoking area for those in blocks 15, 16 and 17. All those people have to walk along the concourse past those waiting for a pie of a piss and it gets gridlocked.

It don't normally bother me, but I could tell the lad was a little scared. I also can't get my head around the fact of the movement of people in the concourse,call me insane but it's like everyone from block 14 is walking towards block 25 and all in 25 towards 14

I haven't been for a fag the last few games, do they still put it between the two toilet blocks? Seems like madness to me, unless people often to go for a piss first. Otherwise you're just routing everyone to one area.

Yes they should open the doors near to block 16 would ease it greatly.
Funny but if you go to the toilets at block 15 you can normally get in and out twice as quick as the one behind 17/18.....

It was awful, but then it's always worst when it's cold as people who are not using any of the facilities are standing around to keep out of the cold. I am always amazed that people want a cold beer on such a day. Why not stay in the pub an extra 20 minutes? While you're at it use the pub toilets before too.

Quite a few missed 2 goals because thay went down early for a beer, now that is amusing

There are probably enough toilets, but the entrances are too narrow. Need to ask the landlords to do something about it?

The concourses have always been chaotic at half time, especially in the early days of the Ricoh when we had much bigger crowds than yesterday. Nothing has ever been learned so no surprise there. I never bother leaving my seat at half time as I can do without their overpriced catering. Of course, the situation has been made worse by closing large chunks of the ground and leaving half the concourses empty and deserted. That's the price of 'atmosphere'.

The toilet situation could be improved by having one-way turnstiles on the entrances and exits so that people have to go the right way. I'm sure that in the days I went to away games some clubs had them decades ago. Stopping people going out for a fag at half time would reduce numbers too, surely people can go without for a couple of hours.

It is fairly shocking.

I got in at 2-30 and then queued up for 20 minutes to get a bottle of Coke, as I didn't fancy missing half the game by attempting to queue up at HT.

6 people behind the concourse, why don't they have 3 competent people behind there and open twice as many stands...

Anyway on getting my bottle, the top was confiscated. I asked for it back so I could keep the drink til HT, but was told it was not policy. I was pretty pissed off, I know it's par for the course at football these days, but there's not even any supervisors to speak to. I actually felt sorry for the poor girl serving me, she was only about 16 and obviously didn't want a 6ft 2" guy moaning at her. What's worse is there was at least 10 people walking round with identical bottles with tops on, that they had bought in the ground themselves. Luckily my opened bottle survived 4 goals in 10 minutes and remained almost intact until half time.

It is a bit pointless really, when you can openly drink pints etc in the stands at the Rome derby, which, lets face it, is always going to be a little more of a hotbed of passion than City vs Gillingham.

Still not to go overboard on a minor niggle, the football's what mattered yesterday.

Can't put turnstiles on entrance/exit - build up from ' from behind will get person at the front crushed/cause panic. Too dangerous. Do need someone on exit preventing people using as entrance.

The toilets are ridiculous, it took me pretty much the whole of the HT break to get in and out, I know it's a petty thing to moan about given how good yesterday was, but people trying to battle against the flow by going in the exit door really boils my piss.

It may be stating the obvious, but can they not just put a steward by each toilet exit stopping people coming in that way?

Can't they use the ''Crowd control'' stewards to control the crowd? Or have they reduced the numbers of stewards to an absolute limit and pay the NMW so that they struggle to attract good experienced staff who would be able to come up with a plan to allow crowds to move more freely and in turn spending money at the buffet. I have seen better plans in place at grounds built in the 19th century what's the excuse with one built in the 21st?

I decided not to buy a drink when I arrived and when the spectator next to me took about 30 minutes to return from his trip to the toilet I took the decision to not buy one at half time or at any point during the game. How many others decided to do likewise?

Fag area is a great place to meet up every week with other supporters.
You can get a different view of the game from different parts of the ground, funny how we all see things differently.
As for going without a fag the way we normally play sends you to drink and smoking☺
But to be fair should be able to go a couple of hours without a drink or food as well.
So just open the toilets and close everything else, problem solved

The west stand now is brilliant. No queues for the toilets at all. The bar is empty and sometimes they open the lounge which has an array of beers and lagers to enjoy,

The Italian drinking culture is different to over here and they are able to handle their alcohol a lot better.

Agree 100% staggering we cant be trusted not to throw coke or a full bottle of piss @ fellow supporters

That part of the concourse just below singer's corner was something else at half time, like the realisation of over 45 years of hurt (league wise) was about to change and I think it is.

I've followed City for 53 years and, even after all that suffering, have never felt the need to smoke, or to drink at the match. My point is that the concourses are so rammed that there is likely to be a safety issue, given that there is no stewarding or crowd control, it would seem.

I have always wondered why people need to eat and drink at a game anyway. Why buy an overpriced pie when you can eat before you get there, even at the chippy if need be. I can understand people having a drink, but not when you are confined to the concourses to do so. I'm just watching Hertha Berlin on TV, which reminded me of our visit there earlier in the season. Fans are positively encouraged to drink outside the stadium in the beer gardens, and inside where they sell plastic steins with a litre at a time in them. You can take them to your seat, of course. Fans happily mix and drink together, but clearly cannot be trusted to do so in this country. Why is that?
