Novacaine - cinema. Totally bonkers, almost like an adult version of Home Alone. Jack Quaid plays an unassuming bank manager, who has a neurological condition that means he can`t feel pain. His bank is robbed by a group of vicious bank robbers, who kidnap one of the bank clerks ( his...

Just been catching up with series 5 of What We Do In The Shadows. It`s just gone totally bonkers, with even more off the wall humour than usual. You can see that the cast are having a ball too. On a side issue, I wish they would do another series of Phone Shop.

A Million Ways To Die In The West was very good. Naked Gun shouldn`t be touched though, as no one can play Drebbin like Leslie Neilsen.

Series 2 of Severance was a bit of a let down. Thought it started off very well and then wandered all over the place and then pulled it back with the last episode. I know it`s a head bender and I loved the first series, but I found some episodes difficult to focus on at times.

Spot on. If the kids enjoy it, what`s the problem ? I`ll be taking my little fella, as he loves the story and doesn`t read or care what the critics think

Couple of films from over the weekend : Last Breath - cinema. Dramatisation of a documentary of the same name, about a commercial deep sea diving accident off the Scottish coast, where a diver ended up stranded on the sea floor, running out of air and the rescue attempts to save him. Stunning...

Best British low budget of all time and still to this day, remains Paddy Considine`s best film ( imo ) Stayed with me for a long time after watching and even now I`m reluctant to re-watch it.

There was also the outstanding BBC drama from a few years back - Three Girls, about the Rochdale grooming scandal. Recently been repeated on BBC1, so it`ll be on Iplayer. A very very tough watch.

Adolescence ( Netflix ) A stunning and frightening piece of television, that will surely scoop up all the awards too. If you`ve got teenage kids, this will resonate with you and frighten the life out of you. Stephen Graham, who co wrote it, as well as starred in it, truly is a special actor...

Watched - The Gorge ( Apple ) over the weekend. The reviews have been a bit so so, but I really enjoyed. Best described as a scfi, with a bit of horror and a bit of romance. Pretty much a perfect remove the brain and enjoy film. Anna Taylor - Joy as always is a delight to watch and gives a...

Watched a few over the last week. In no particular order : Breaking ( just dropped on Netflix ) John Boyega is sensational in the lead, as the film depicts an ex Gulf War veteran, who takes two bank clerks hostage, as a protest at his treatment by the Army Veterans Association. Based on a...

Great film. Considering he started life as a rap artist, he`s gone onto become one of the best young British actors around ( imo ) You can almost guarantee, that if he`s in something now, it`s going to be good.
