Only been to 3 games all season but am going Boxing Day so was looking on here for team news but all the stuff about wasp, sisu, the trust etc just feels like the same old crap keeps going and going. Take my hat off to everyone who sticks with it but beyond hoping for 3 points on Wednesday my...
If I've looked at the table right, then looking at the last five games played for all of the top 9 teams only Acc Stan's form is better than us. Of the other teams 8 (excluding Acc Stan) only us and Mansfield are unbeaten in the last 5 games and Mansfield have had 4 draws and just 1 win whereas...
Looking at this thread and the one called '8th biggest budget' it seems on the basic point about what budget we have and how it compares to the rest of the division that no one actually knows. There's some bits of info like on size of squad and we've all got our own opinion but otherwise saying...
Agreed (again!) Injuries are one of those factors to throw into the mix and we've certainly been dead unlucky. I thought the title of this thread was interesting and in terms of whether we're underperforming it does seem like budget could be a useful benchmark
Agreed, but is it in the top half of budgets in this division, top 8, top 3? If it's a top 3 budget then we're definitely underperforming but if it's top half/top 8 then maybe it's a bit less clear?
Maybe I have very low expectations but despite being terrible first half we only conceded from a dodgy penalty and second half we did really well to get back into it and looked like we were going to win. Giving away such a stupid late goal was a sickener. Something certainly changed at half time...
Am working not far from Colchester today so if get job done in time will go to the game. Low expectations though and might be as much about players being up for it and ready to battle it out than tactical tweaks
You're right that consistency is key. It's all too easy to imagine we beat Accrington then lose to Colchester. If autos are looking tough then hopefully we've still got enough to get into the playoffs and with our cup/knockout record over the last couple of seasons we'd hopefully be well placed...
would trust bookies more than sky. Not bothered what happens Saturday but the 3 games after that are critical and after them chances of autos/play offs/missing out could look quite a bit clearer
I wonder if another way of looking at is as a 'slippery slope'. If there isn't an in principle view that moving from an area is wrong in itself, then moving just a mile the other side of a boundary might seem reasonable. But if 1 mile is ok why not 5 miles? If 5 miles is ok why not 10 miles...
On the one hand there are shades of grey and every move is different, but I then come back to the point that if every move is different and it is all shades of grey then people can always find an argument to support moving whether its us to Northampton, wasps here or whatever else. My point...
