I can still remember the cringeworthy headline in the Pink after the Everton game, "Hot Cross Fun". Makes me wonder if Otis was on the staff at the CET back then.
Actually he did play again. He went to Bolton on loan and then signed for them making about 25 or so appearances, and I think he played a handful of games for Blackpool too. Christ knows how he managed it.
Edit. Reading your post again I see you may have meant didn`t play again for City.

It was so bad I don`t think many who witnessed it would have forgotten.

Never rated Kearns much myself. Thought him a bit one paced and he struggled against a decent winger.
Heard years later that he had knee problems and had to play with pain killing injections which might explain his lack of pace.
Had nothing better to do so I did a rough count of the response on here when he was appointed. I didn`t count re posts.

I agree. I might be wrong but my recollection is that the majority on here thought this was a good appointment at the time and that he was just the type of manager we needed to get us out of trouble. I thought so myself.

All signings at this level are a bit of a gamble, but this is a low risk one. As it`s only to the end of the season there is no long term comittment and the cost is not likely to be very substantial.
