An open letter to SISU and Mr. Tim Fisher (1 Viewer)

At 4 years old in 1996 I attended my first ever football game. To this day I remember the feeling of walking between the imposing terraced houses of hillfields, the melee of the crowds around the ground and the overwhelming feeling of anticipation. I remember standing on my chair as Dion Dublin crashed in a last minute equaliser and the unrivalled feeling of jubilation despite a probable lack of understanding.

From that moment on I was hooked. I would beg my dad to take me to games and he was only too happy to oblige. At the age of 5 when we were away from home I would sit in the corner of my lounge for 2 hours listening intently to games or be waiting for the ceefax page to load praying that we had scored. I've watched us win games against teams that now we can only dream of playing if we manage to scrape through the preliminary rounds of a cup competition. I have fought tirelessly to explain to friends why I'm a Coventry fan through thick and thin.

I've watched us win by 5 and lose by 5, I've watched last day heroics to avoid relegation and shocking cup upsets to take us through to the next round. I've been to numerous grounds and seen us take an absolute hiding. But through everything I have believed there was some fight, that despite our reputation as last day of the season scrappers we were fighting for something and so were the owners of our club.

Even as we have sold on some of my heroes I always believed there was something bigger and better to come. But recent events have destroyed my love of the game that I once would have done anything to see.

The club that once provided such joy (despite often poor results) is simply no more. We have no home, no promise and a very murky future. We are the victim of terrible management, the likes of which in any other industry would be under severe scrutiny by the powers that be. Your ownership has ripped the heart and soul out of the city and the football club but personally most importantly has destroyed my love for the game.

Do the right thing and leave this club and allow it to grow to be something better so that one day my children may be able to experience what I did all those years ago.

If SISU are not willing to leave at this moment in time then so be it .
However that is no excuse for the continual employment of mr fisher , who has destroyed any relationship supporters still had with the football club and it's owners (the latter was non existent anyway)
It is very important the club make a step in employing somebody who can communicate with supporters properly , who has the interest of supporters in mind and who actually gives a shit about the feeling of this clubs fan base , whilst still doing our scumbag owners dirty work for them behind the scenes .

Therefore in my opinion Tim fisher has to go immediately as realistic priority number 1

Wouldn't be a fundamental change though would it, they would just wheel the next puppet in who will attempt to appease the fans before realising it's an impossible task and in the end giving in and simply admitting the whole thing is a travesty

Great post, I'm 47 and I still remember my first games at HR, walking through the terraced Streets of hillfields
with the crowds and the noise if I close my eyes I can almost get the Smells of the cigar Smoke.
You had exactly the same feelings as me but 26 years later, there will be people on here who had the same
Experience 20 years before me, and so on, sadly I feel this cycle is coming to an end.
What's been done to our football club over the years is criminal, it is also depriving future generations the
Chance of experiencing the "highs the lows" and the feeling of pride you have in YOUR local club.

I remember my first game at the age of 5 nearly 50 years ago.I used to live in Dane Road a short walk from Highfield Road and i remembered as i grew up waiting for my Dad by the bus stop on Clay lane on a Saturday afternoon when he finished work so I could pester him for my pocket money then i'd race up to the ground and soak up the atmosphere before the kick off.
Quite often i managed to sneak in through the turnstiles and shoot straight up the Spion Kop to watch my heroes try ther best to get a result and yeah quite often we got beat and as upsetting as it was at least the players of that generation tried.
To where we are now..homeless with owners who don't give a shit and seemingly players who don't give a shit and heading for yet another relegation.
Sisu and especially Tim Fisher need to fuckin get out of this city and give us a chance to at least survive and give someone else a go....couldn't be any worse could it really.
I've been a reader of this site for quite a while and don't post much but this is really the worst i have felt being a city fan in nearly 50 years.
do one Sisu and take that fat useless waste of oxygen with you!!!!!!

They really don't have a clue, it's more than just a game of 90minutes 40/50 times a year, to many of us, it's part of who we are, bonds/relationships with family & friends, the memories created, emotions experienced.

They really don't understand.

They don't give a shit as to them it's just a business....we've grown up from young kids to where we are now following the club..it's in our blood unlike Mark Robins and i wouldn't ever dream of trying to follow another club if ours failed to exsist.
For me it's the Sky Blues or nothing...My dear departed dad got me hooked on the Sky Blues and it's been in the hearts of generations of my family and will continue to be no matter what

Theres only one way to get rid of them. Its like having the shits you have to starve them out whatever it takes.
Put it this way if we do nothing then we will continue to spiral down until the inevitable. Yes nopm may also cause the club financial hardship and drop of leagues but it will eventualy starve the parasite out of the club and hopefuly we can then rebuild.

Weve tried everything else and this is the only thing left to us to get rid of this shit

At least everyone knows the first & biggest problem is Tim slimball fisher.

I doubt anyone else would improve the situation while they still have to report to the SISU hierarchy. But Fisher has made some disastrous decisions along the way, losing a massive chunk of the fan base and virtually condemning us to a further relegation. If the bloke had any ounce of integrity or empathy with the fans he would fall on his sword and let someone else have a go.

My 51st season too and I will be forever Sky Blue, as my brick at the Ricoh states, I had a wobble during the Northampton episode but my heart belongs to Coventry City, always has always will.
My message to the owners is simple - step up or step out!

50 years of support here....................destroyed by these fuckers
65 years since I used to catch the bus from Balsall Common to Pool Meadow and walk up the see my heroes at High field Road. Never missed a game, except for the odd illness, home and away. Only go to the odd game since SISU ripped the heart out of MY club and destroyed it.

60 years for me , I remember back in 1980 being unemployed after being made redundant from the standard triumph
and not having enough money to get the bus from Tile Hill and back home again , I only had enough money to get into the ground and one bus fare , so I decided to walk from Tile Hill to Highfield road, it took me about 2 hours and no money for drinks when I got there .
Today I have a season ticket and I have a car and I couldn't be bothered to go on Saturday and that's all down Fisher and SISU .
So I will NOT BE RENEWING MY SEASON TICKET again until SISU have GONE ,
I will just go to the odd home games and away games . :rage:

62 years for me, since Pa took me to H/Rd,
oh dear Fisher, what a dreadful mess you & your cohorts have created,
I guarantee in years to come none of your clique will rest easy,
& as a personal note to TF, who, will ever employ you again, YOU SIR ARE A DISGRACE,
oops sorry, I forgot, it's all the fans fault,
F.O.A.D.
