I still think that Sagan took his Line but Cav has a history of trying to squeeze into impossible spaces. It also looks like Cav was falling when the elbow landed but you can argue this one all day long..

I think DQ might have been harsh but I guess rules are rules and was actually refreshing to see a decisive decision

Given Vettel's petulant ramming into Hamilton in the last F1 has warranted 'no further action' (I wonder if they would have ruled similarly had it been the other way round? Ferrari favour n all that!) I think it was harsh to DQ him. BUT IMO it is the RIGHT decision, & Vettel should've been banned from the Austrian GP!

Didn't really look at the F1 issue but I thought Hamilton slowed down. Clearly he rammed him afterwards so I agree no excuse.

I thought it looked like he did ease off the power after going around the turn - BUT tchnology in the car show he didn't apparently.
The sheer thuggery of Vettel's response deserved stiffer punishment imo

They FIA checked the telemetry and he'd kept it at a constant speed. Shame Cav is out.

Yep nice to see that some sports are willing to bring in harsh punishment when required

Didn't watch It yo be honest, not my 'sport'. I seen it on the news and even the clash of tyres sonthat was pretty comprehensive !

Broken shoulder. Bora-Hansgrohe are appealing the DQ.

It will be interesting to see if Bora win their appeal against this decision

I don't think he is too old to break stage wins record, hes only just turned 32, Greipel has won 6 stages since turning 32 and will probably get a couple more this year with no Cav and Sagan

As long as he takes the right time to recover from this injury, stays hungry and picks his battles wisely he can certainly catch Merckx and likely pass him.

Will be interesting to see if the governing body back down on the Sagan matter, its clearly caused a stir!

I would agree he has more in him but equally his lead out train isn't getting any younger and he still relies on Renshaw etc who have served him well for years. I don't get the hate for Cav to be honest, I thought his interview was great and he come across very humble and didn't gun down Sagan. He is a fiery character and you wont change that but he has learnt to keep his gob shut but unfortunately in most people's eyes he will always will be the villain.

I don't think the peloton have a hate for Cav but its more the public. Hearing that his family were getting abused also, just awful

Another sprinters stage today, so feet up for Froomey and other GC riders again.

Kittel looked strong yesterday but hoping Griepel can win a stage to mix up the green jersey race.

Do they show all of it or the start and finish? Can you really watch it for the whole day?

On Eurosport they do or you can catch the highlights at 8pm. Its one for the purists I guess particularly stages like today where nothing will happen apart from the last 300m (unless you get a grouped breakaway) but the mountainous stages are definitely more interesting and more tactical for the GC perspective so Saturday and Sunday will be definitely worth a watch.

Not so much on days like these, Saturday and sunday will be a great watch from start to finish though.

His KOM in 1984 was my introduction to road cycling.......I was a BMX freestyle loony at the time & never paid any attention to racers....but by 1985 I had PX'd my BMX for a shit halfords racer.....then Roche did what he did in 1987 & I was hooked. Got a cheap Bianchi the same year & have had at least one decent steel road bike ever since.
I rode a 501 tubed falcon into work today.....I've had the frameset for 27 years :happy:

Mont du Chat will be an interesting one at the end, great decent to finish the stage too! If it rains that could spell big trouble!

I was a late bloomer into cycling and didn't really get into it until early 2010's when it started becoming popular. Having said that I am now slightly obsessed!

It's on ITV4 live. I love watching it find it great on in the background while I do other stuff. Like Cricket

Got ITV4 on in the workshop....thought I may miss RadMac on 6music, but no, I'm finding it quite therapeutic actually.....

Robert Millar also got me into cycling. Back when you had 20 minutes highlights on world of sport. Dickie davies hosted it, sometimes Fred Dineage.
Phil liggett used to commentate. Was made up when channel 4 took on the highlights. Great theme tune. Richard keys presented it for a couple of tours.
Robert Millar is still one of my all time favourite cyclists. Hopefully she has found true happiness as Phillipa York.

Apparently something like 0.005 seconds difference or something as daft as that. You would be gutted losing to that margin. I think the fact that they would go to that Margo would say they don't like dead heats!

What an eventful race that was! Poor Porte crashing out completely taking out Martin at the same time same as G. Froome gets a mechanical and Aru sprints off when he sees the problem. Uran gears locked up too but still gets to the line. Full on race!

53/11 or 38/11 and still win that stage......ridiculously talented racing.
