Eh, not that bothered really. The League Cup gets worse the lower you fall down the leagues as you end up having to play better opposition and the whole affair just feels a bit pointless and taxing on the squad right at the start of the season. Glad Robins made changes and we should hopefully be fresh to go and grab 3 points up at Grimsby on Saturday. Definitely need another CM in the squad as Shipley at 4th choice just isn't good enough. Hopefully Robins will address this before the window shuts.

Nice for Mowbray to win at the Ricoh for a change.

Didn't take us long to lose our unbeaten home record.

Initial thoughts .... the midfield of Stephenson and Shipley won't be a pairing again under Robins.

Shipley at this early stage doesn't look good enough and Stephenson won't be a regular under robins. Based on this robins needs to spend some of the thomas money ASAP

Why - Blackburn have a huge budget compared to ours - we will play nothing like them in League Two and we played a weakened team

We were besten by a team.simply better than us. Also we played 4 or 5 academy kids so shouldn't be too downbeat

Shipley deke finn biamou prob not ready yet

Camwell looks a real player

Grimmer had a v good ezcept for.horrible clearence for important 2nd goal

Macdonald and hyam continue to impress especially rod

And boy do we have ourselves a keeper!

As for blackburn they played some very good stuff whixh was to be expected with their.manager. that blond sub who came on was quality.

We may need centre.mid reinforcements.over course of season but we can be positive about a good league 2.campaign

Bring on grimsby! Lesgue 2 teams wont play it around like blackbirn thays for sure

Blackburn never had to raise a sweat...easy game for them. However not a disaster for us...robbins now knows he needs midfield backup and biamou not ready for first team yet. Also duck needs to get match fit and camwell not quite ready. Overall a disappointing game rather than a disaster against a superior side.

Okay, so not bothered about going out the competition. Robins clearly saw this as an opportunity to blood some youngsters.

The only thing worrying me is what are we going to do if Doyle or Kelly are injured or suspended. Worrying that we don't seem to have anyone else to come in.

Shipley didn't at all look ready to step up and Stevenson we all know is quite lightweight.

Biggest positive for me is that we have now surely found our first choice keeper. I thought O'Brien was confident and controlled his penalty area admirably.

Bit worried about Biamou. He was like Bambi on ice a bit and a poor first touch let him down.

I do like the look of Camwell and he looks like he could definitely be a first team regular.

I thought Rod was very steady again and him and Hyam seem to have the makings of a decent partnership.

Not too disheartened to be quite honest and two of their goals were deflections too.

Have to say, I thought Samuel for them looked quite classy.

And with Doyle and Kelly in there tonight it would have been a completely different ball game.

Think we should just dismiss it as a chance to try out some youngsters. The league is where it's at and I expect us to bounce back on Saturday no problem.

I thought no.16 Caddis, 9 Samuel and Ben Gladwin after coming on were impressive.

Also have to say, the Sky Blue faithful were in mighty fine voice tonight. Even singing when we were 3-1 down.
Aye, I love that, I noticed after each goal went in for Blackburn, we were in good voice.

Don't want to be too negative after tonights game but not many positives to take from it really. O'Brien looked really commanding tonight. Defence was fine. Grimmer had a howler for the second goal but other than that was good enough. Willis will improve the defence when he comes back. Centre midfield was really poor which raises some concern about depth of squad. Stevenson gave the ball away almost every time and Shipley had a bad game. Jones was anonymous tonight although not entirely his fault. Kelly-Evans had an ok game. Nazon good first half but faded. Definitely will give Robins something to think about though with first choice strikers. Biamou looked out of his depth. Hopefully he's not too much of a confidence player and can improve but definitely needs a lot of work to succeed at this level. Beavon was the best of the three subs but by 60 minutes the game had petered out to friendly pace so would be harsh to judge any of them really. Learn what we can from tonight and move on!
