Apparently linked, based on this tweet:

Another CH wouldn't be my priority by any means, if we've happened upon some more cash I'd definitely be looking for a goal scorer. With a bit more money now I'd be inclined in maybe improving terms and 're offering that David Tarpey a few more quid.

This worries me a little. If we need another CB I wonder if McDonald is a long term injury. :(

Been our best player.

And it can't be anything to do with Jordan Willis possibly being sold, because then you wouldn't have to 'win the lottery.'

This is what annoys me about the radio interviews and the telegraph situation, players get injuried and it takes ages for any to ask how long they are out!

Even with McDonald out we still have Willis, Pearson and Hyam and Stokes can fill in there worst case. It's not like we're massively light in that position. NEED a striker. Not a CH

Unless Stokes, Willis AND McDonald are all going to be out for a while. That WOULD then have us needing a CB.

Surely even WE'RE not that unlucky? We'd of been better off sticking with Reda Johnson if this is the case!

Definitely need some force upfront, we are making it easy for defenders with our lightweight strike force, only time it gets awkward for them is when Jodie decides its time for another game

We can't keep signing more and more strikers! We have what 6? Beavon, Mcnulty, Nazon, Biamou, Thomas and Ponticelli. People will then complain even more that Ponticelli doesn't get a chance. Unless we move to two up top, then we are just going to be top heavy.
What we need is another winger, desperately short of a natural wide player with a bit of pace, to go with Jones, and stretch the play on the other side.

We've got six strikers but all of them won't score goals. It was a real mistake buying Biamou.

lets hope these guys just a bit of time to kick in, it happens.. some strikers take a while to get going & then go on a run. Conversely some strikers come & bang them in initially, only for things to dry up - look at Armstrong

Happens both ways , so lets just hope ... I do feel its as much about supply , as it is finish too.

That's the thing, it's about creating chances for the strikers too.

I think Andreu will help with the link between midfield and the strikers.

Yep, exactly. We need to create the clear cut chances.

No point having strikers if there's no creativity in midfield. Our problem is that the DMs sit too deep leaving a gap behind the strikers, so the ball gets hoofed forward. We looked much better last night after Doyle went off because Andreu dropped back (but not as far as Doyle) and had more space and Maycock pushed forward

Completely agree with that. Vincenti appears to have lost his turn of pace after his return from long term injury, which just leaves us with Jones and DeKE. So we're pretty desperate for a quick natural wide player. Unfortunately, Carl Baker may no longer be quick enough for that role, so he is not really a solution to this problem.

As for strikers, we just have to hope that with a bit of time to settle in, either McNulty and Nazon (or both) will form a partnership with Beavon and goals will flow. It's clear that Biamou will take longer to settle in, as he needs more coaching input. Hopefully, Ponticelli will hopefully gives us another option, sooner rather than later.

Can people stop with the Biamou bashing? He's played the grand total of about 120 minutes for us, give the bloke a chance.
He hasn't offered much in those minutes but then people need to go back and watch the type of goals he was scoring at Sutton and then remind themselves of the type of football we've played with him in the team - long ball to his head.

You can't tell me that he's the answer. From what I've watched he's been useless.

Don't really think we have seen enough of him. Against Yeovil he won every header but nobody was near him and he hasn't really had any decent chances.

Still, you can't sign players. Decide they are useless after less than 2 full games and then just sign a replacement.

so,in summary, after 26 posts, we need

a CB for cover
a striker as Biamou is no good
a winger as we only have one

people do know we are down to our last 4 goalkeepers. what if 3 of them get injured.

Fully agree with that. Andreu is the best footballer in the squad, and we need to play a system where he gets the ball as often as possible. That first half was truly non-League standard, and the worst City performance I’ve seen in over 50 years. The long balls gave the forwards no chance – we don’t have a target man and they weren’t even good long balls. As you say, when Andreu dropped back and started knocking it around we looked a better team. Maycock did well alongside him too – might be a good prospect.

It’s disappointing if we’re in the market for another CB, when the forward line is so lightweight.

We've not played good possession football for a whole match yet and in half our league games there's been a void in central midfield. None of our strikers have had a decent service yet. What's the criteria you've judged Biamou on to conclude he's useless?

It's not hard to understand, when I've watched him he's been crap. Can't be relying on him to come good half way through the season.

Could it be our style of football hasn't really suited him? Can hammer long balls to him all day, even if he wins them there is nobody near him to get onto them.

Let's see our midfield put him clean through a couple of times or some decent crosses for him to get onto before we can really judge.

Maybe. Would be happy to be proven wrong but at the moment I can't see him being up to much.
