Wasps v Newcastle Falcons Attendance : 7,517
Yes, they are the biggest club in Coventry. I'd hate the think what pitiful attendances we would get if we had just won the premier league. I wish every financial disaster upon them.

And under 10’s go free I hear? Also I understand an awful lot of tickets are given away to generate interest?

The Leicester’s and Baths were always aware that Wasps purchase over a stadium and signing players that they couldn’t afford would come back to bite. The extension of the payments on the bond scheme set up for the funding of the Ricoh is a sign things aren’t going to plan. Wasps thought and expected they would win everything in sight and last season was a big blow to there plan. There start this season would suggest another pot less season for them and the move to Coventry and attempt to stimulate the Coventry people’s imagination simply hasn’t happened and after a enthusiastic start it’s fizzled out.

I know a couple of mates who went to wasps went they first came to Coventry and wouldn’t go again. A relative of mine had a box once and the service and experience was awful and won’t go again. In fact they went to watch harlequins in a box and mentioned that the experience and service would of embarrassed Wasps.

They don’t belong here and won’t be accepted here. I wish and pray that Coventry RFC continue there start and get promoted.

I’m not 100% certain Dave but I thought Wasps had delayed/pushed back the first biannual repayment towards the bond scheme. Thought I read it somewhere.
If that's happened there's no way that it can be interpreted as anything other than them having financial issues. Didn't they factor in the money for the first couple of repayments in the amount they borrowed?

Wouldn't be happy if I was an investor and my promised payments didn't appear. You'd imagine that would impact on their ability to re-finance when this bond needs paying back.

It’s true, Les Reed broke the news a few months back that Wasps can’t pay back the bond holders. If you can’t pay them back as per the terms of the agreement then it’s leading to one thing only....

...and this is where the heroine of the whole story will step in and reclaim our home with a great offer that wasps (and the council ) will fully embrace. I've always fancied her.

Why do you think they never built the new stadium? They knew Wasps would get into trouble and that acquiring the Ricoh from them, or at least a share of it, woild be far cheaper than the prospect of building a new ground.

telegraph publishing his nonsense that he was duped by a prank pretending to be sisu.

Dubbing him as "would be owner"

Surely if Wasps go under and the lease reverted back to the Council, it would then go up for sale on the open market. As Sisu have already defaulted on the lease then I can not see the Council willing to have them as tenants again.

Regards.

The 2 are entirely separate entities.

I would think that the Council view them as one entity, in the same way as Wasps do and will not negotiate with Sisu,Otium or CCFC while they are trying to claim £30 million off them.

Regards.

No apology from CT. No apology from DE. No apology shows the contempt they have for us.

More accurate headline would be local paper duped by dale evans.
And a local radio station - don't forget, CWR gave him airtime in the first place and everyone else, including the CT, initially took their lead. Someone really should be taken to task at CWR for letting him on air without doing any diligence.

Problem is, which sports team other than CCFC or Wasps would aspire to buy it? A market of one is not a market - SISU would be able to name their price. That's why the council solicited bids from out of town in the first place - expand the market to improve the offer they'd get for the Ricoh. In fairness they have a statutory duty to get best value, regardless that Wasps were from outside of the area.

I meant the lease. There is considerable difference between a 250 year leasehold purchased off the council and a 42 years matchday only unaffordable rental agreement from ACL Ltd.

The council wouldnt let the club have the lease anyway, just in case we were to use it as security for money...

Dare I say it,but would not one of the alleged parties interested in buying the Club likely to have a say in the matter?

Regards.
