When he played for us did anyone ever envisage him playing for England one day?

Just been called up to the senior squad.

Absolute joke this. I've paid for me and the family to go and watch the Brazil game and half our team have pulled out 'injured'.
I feel fucking robbed tbh.

Robbie Simpson was according to some fans better then Jordan Henderson so...

I just thought he was average here. Definitely saw something in Jordan Henderson, but Cork pulled up no trees.

We've got a few decent international players but nothing world class and when you get past that the quality is appalling.

Southgate's a knob. His reasoning for not picking Jack Wilshere was bad enough, but now being so stubborn too with so many drop outs, simply to admit he was wrong and get in someone who has the talent and if fit is actually likely to go to the WC and make a difference not people who are bang average.

I thought Cork was decent when he was here, could definitely see potential in him but never an England international. Same as Henderson, I rated him but Cov fans saying they thought he'd be an England regular are lying.

To be honest even if it's only friendlies the thought of playing Germany and Brazil at Wembley should be the pinnacle of an English footballers career

I don't think he should be an England regular...

Has anyone said that? I rated him him, but never even crossed my mind that he was going to be international standard material one day.

It is if you have the likes of Livermore and Cork in your squad.

They are both poor players, if this is the best we can do then we might as well give up

We have a clown for a manager. Earlier this week one our main attacking threats, Dele is out injured so what does he do? Calls up Michael Keane to replace him. He’s a centre half!

Livermore shouldn’t be anywhere near the squad. Never been good enough to be. Henderson is better than him and I can accept him being in the squad but I don’t get why he regularly starts.

Henderson always looked full of promise for us, not surprised he 'made it'.

Cork however...

I know we got him yopung, and fair play he seems to have come on and developed, but I never thought I'd see the day he was in an England squad!

I do remember thinking that Stephen Warnock might play for England one day.

Cork was just okay.

Pointless frendly games I can't blame them for pulling out and Southgate wouldn't dare say he isn't going to pick anybody who pulls out as the sensible ones won't care and it will prolong their club careers if he stopped them

I don’t see how Oxlade-Chamberlain hasn’t been called up? Or drinkwater? Shouldn’t have been in the initial squad, but much better than the players called up?

Just hope some of the u17 u19 players etc come good. Can't be worse than the dross that's picked now.

Yep, according to the Beeb, Drinkwater says he doesn't feel he is fit enough to play, having recently come back from injury.

If so then that is fine. 'Declined' makes it sound a lot worse than it is.

Looking at the squad, that has to be as weak a midfield group as we have put together in many an age hasn't it?

Eric Dier
Ruben Loftus-Cheek
Jack Cork
Ashley Young
Jake Livermore
Jesse Lingard.

That's shocking.
