Obrien 7 one really bad flap at a corner otherwise ok
Dion 7 lots of energy and got forward well but gave it away very easily at times
Hyam 7 lucky not to be sent off, got booked early on and then gave away a lot free kicks
Willis 8
Stokes 6 at fault for the goal went mad last 15 mins bombing forward
Maycock 6 won the ball back well but passing poor and mostly backwards or sideways
Stevenson 7 great goal, and good corner for an assist
Devon 6
Vinnie 5
K thomas 6 looked very rusty but still has moments showing pace and strength which suggest he could be useful
Beavon 6 again another match where he doesn't even look like scoring

Errmm, I wasn't there, but didn't Beavon score, but it was given as offside? Was also suggested on here that it wasn't offside. Surely that looks like scoring doesn't it?

And I am not sticking up for him here. His return is nowhere near good enough, but I just think that seems an inaccurate account of last night.

O'Brien - 7 - Generally played well, 1 Kamikaze from a corner. Kicking was great, there was one where he went to play it to our right but switched it out to DKE on the left.
Dion Kelly Evans - 7 - Worked hard, smashed their 17 a few times as well
Hyam - 7 - Seemed to win most things in the air, had a few battles with their striker, smashed their 17 as well.
Willis - 7 - Steady game, won headers and played it out of defence well a few times
Stokes - 7 - Got forward a lot more, some good balls into the box as well. Fitness looked a bit better.
Devon Kelly Evans - 6 - Wasn't really in the game much, he did work hard and track back.
Maycock - 6 - Wasn't his best game, grew into it as it went on.
Stevenson - 8 - Great finish, played a lot higher and was always around the edge of the box than we are used to seeing with midfielders. Their 17 got a megs on him that dreams were made of though.
Vincenti - 6 - Wasn't really for him, there's no chance he was going to outrun their nippy players and not much in the air for him. A few good touches though.
Beavon - 7 - He worked hard, some really good touches and brought it down well a few times. Good finish for the disallowed goal.
K Thomas - 6 - It's a weird one, first half he was all over the shop. Towards the end he came into the game and showed strenth, wiped out their player as well which is a bonus.
Biamou - 7 - Still unsure of his position, had some great touches and played others in. Stole the ball back a couple of times and started counter attacks.
Bayliss - 6 - Wasn't on that long but looked to have a good touch and confident on the ball
Thomson - 6 - He didn't look out of place, I know he played in the conference but once he fills out a bit more will be decent

Good for him-one swallow and all that, needs now to start doing it in L2 rather than an U21 development squad.

Shearer - All over the place, needs to be dropped for Steele
J. Clarke 6 - Good going forward but a liability at the back
Edge - Looks good with his recovery tackles but creates his own problems with poor positional sense
Daish - Looks injured still, we need Breen back asap
Hall - One of his poorer performances, normally guaranteed a 6 but didn't offer that today
Thompson - Great game apart from the headbutt at the, needs to sort his attitude out.
Henderson - This kid is awful, send him back to Sunderland
Soltvedt - Not sure what he brings to the team
Partridge - This kid is a star, give Liverpool whatever they want for him, future world cup winner.
Lowe - Red eyes, languid style, kept stopping for wotsits. We should give him a couple of weeks in Jamaica to recuperate
Clarke-Harris - Bastard man
Manager: Black - Looks good but I think we'd do better with an experienced head like Peter Reid
Fans - Lack of atmosphere, things will be better when we move to arena 2000
