Not a disaster but the goal threat is a worry. From that a draw would be a fair result but all teams coming for a draw and getting one will see off any chance of a play off position.

Shot didn't seem that great to me. Also people on here slating Haynes for not closing down, ok he doesn't but he hardly let's the guy drive forward 10 yards then pick his spot like people on here were suggesting. Literally took one touch then hit it. If Haynes charged forward towards him they'd have played it in behind

Jones should have closed him down first or pressured him

Robins didn’t blame jones - told him to be more advanced in the post match interview. It was Haynes fault. His like a lamppost as a defender he does nothing.

It was apparent that Jones was being told to stay advanced on the left yesterday
Unfortunately it meant he was hardly in the game in the second half as we rarely got the ball to him
When we did he had two men in close attendance so was usually forced to play backwards to keep possession
We probably need to revisit our tactics for games at the Ricoh against teams who play two banks of 4 - which is most of them in this division so far
Two defensive midfielders is one two many for this type of game where the opposition hardly attack apart from long punts up field in the hope of getting dubious free kicks from which to launch dead balls into our area
Perhaps Stevenson with one of Doyle or Kelly would be better for these games
Stevenson has more invention and is better at picking a pass or seeing the chance of a long range shot than either of these guys - who are both excellent players but have quite similar styles
Robins is probably right to say there isn't a better side in L2 than us - look at how crazy the teams and their fans go when they get a result at our place

Can't see past Burge for that one I'm afraid. Got to be doing better with long shots like that. If it's top corner then fair play-that wasn't.

No side with Burge and Haynes in will ever be graced with success. Neither are good enough for this level and that is saying something. Both at fault for the goal (after Willis needlessly gave the ball away from a throw deep in our own half) and the same combination stood around helplessly in the first half when they hit the post.

I don’t understand the clamour by some people who continue to back this pair of plonkers. Stokes has had a poor return from injury but my god he’s ten times the defender Haynes will ever be. And going forward, the final 10 minutes said it all when he ballooned 3 consecutive crosses out for a goal kick.

Yep, been saying it for years. Don't see why some don't see it!:banghead:
