Again with Nazon out and Grimmer out and having had a tough game at Lincoln would be more than happy with a 1-1 draw from this one but would be delighted if we could get three wins on the bounce. Teamwise I'd go with this.

Burge GK
Willis RB
Haynes LB
Davies CB
Macdonald CB
Kelly CM
Doyle CM
Jones LM
Maycock RM
McNulty ST
Biamou ST

Subs: O'Brien, Hyam, Stokes, Stevenson, Vincenti, Ponticelli

We've only played them twice away and won both times.
But we had the likes of McGoldrick, Wilson and Clarke scoring for us back then.
All we have now is McNulty, so I'm going for a 1-1 draw.

The Stevenage manager was quoted in article as saying they also went for a few of the same players but coventry blew them out the water!

Mansfield manager also said things along similar lines.

Have we underestimated the budget SISU have given Robins.

I won’t be able to make it tonight but I will be watching on ifollow. Great day Saturday so hope we can back it up. Even take a draw I think.

Nice little ground. Decent away trip.

So our supporters at Wembley now numbered 50,000.... How long will it be before we bought out the whole 90,000 with thousands more clamouring at the gate without being allowed in.
Good article though

Does anyone know if Nazon is available tonight heard so many different things. Nothing official from the club.

SSN are reporting he misses tonight's game. Looks like the balance is swinging towards tonight he's suspended for not Saturday.

Be nice if the club actually said

They have Harry Beautyman, I am sure I recognise the name. Has he done a job on his before for Northampton / Posh?

Stevenage face fallen giants Coventry City as a proud club attempts to rise again
What a great read. It's nice to see others in the football world recognising our plight and what we've had to endure over the last 15 years or so.

  • Stevenage are 3rd from bottom in the form table having lost 5 of their last 7 games. W1 D1 L5. Although their win was at home to 3rd place Accrington and the draw at home to 1st place Notts County.
  • They have the 5th worst defense in the division conceding 29 goals but 7 of those came in the 7-1 away defeat to Luton.
  • They have scored in 100% of their home games this season but only kept one clean sheet.
  • They are very much a first half team at home having been in the lead at HT in 7 of their 9 games. They've scored 9 and conceded just 2 in the first half of matches but in the 2nd half scored 8 and conceded 11
  • Striker Danny Newton has previously played for Hinckley, Nuneaton, Leamington and Tamworth and scored 7 goals since turning pro with Stevenage this year.

They've got some good results against teams towards the top of the table. Feel confident of the win tonight though. Be nice for Biamou or NcNulty to get the goals in a 0-2

Well, here's hoping that we can put in another shift and grab a scrappy win, cos I get the feeling this match will be a grot-fest.

I know we tend to struggle against lower-table opposition, but I feel a 1-0 today.

PUSB.

To take 6 points in the space of days from two tricky away games will be huge, tho I'm not 100% confident. Do the city do back to back away wins?

I'd take a point now but after the huge boost of confidence from Saturday we should be confident of another win.

Like others I would be happy for a draw after the great win Saturday. But if we do get back to back away victories then it will set us up nicely for the games in the run up to Christmas.

Luton and Lincoln! Or do you mean when the games are actually consecutive? Doesn't happen that way very often.

Barnet and Accrington (lets not discuss them!) were the last 2 and then it will happen three times more this season:
1st - Port Vale 26 Dec Carlisle 30 Dec
2nd - Wycombe 27 Jan Forest Green 3 Feb
3rd - Notts County 7 Apr Crawley 14 Apr

On back to back wins, the season so far has been one of mini-runs without ever going on a crazy unbeaten run:

I think there's a lot to be nervous of in this fixture. Stevenage have scored in every home game, done well against the top teams they've played at home and will be desperate for a win after sliding out of the top 7 following a poor 7 game run. As much as I'd love a first half goal to open up the flood gates I think this game will be 0-0 at half time and we will go on to nick it.
