Burge - 6 - Kicking back to the old kicking, flapped at so many things
Willis - 6 - Struggled, out of position a lot
McDonald - 7 - Had a bit of a battle all game aerially
Davies - 7 - Won most headers, did for the goal
Haynes - 6 - Flapped out of tackles, wasted so many attacks with poor crosses
Jones - 6 - Obviously bad he was injured but was having a poor, poor game. That chance where Shipley was clean through was shocking
Doyle - 7 - Was on his own for most of the game
Kelly - 7 - Played really well while he was on the pitch
Shipley - 7 - Had a decent game, did a fair bit. Was all over the shop.
Biamou - 7 - Worked hard, won most headers, held the ball up but can't do it all on his own
McNulty - 7 - Extra point for scoring, no idea why he doesn't play off Biamou

Maycock - 6 - Doyle's back will be aching
Vincenti - 6 - Chucking him on with an already dog slow midfield wasn't going to do anything
Ponticelli - NA

I can’t see how Haynes gets a 6 tonight. Constant misplaced passes either to Stevenage or out of play and bottled loads of tackles. He put the ball out that gave them possession before the eaqualiser then didn’t tackle the guy on the edge of the box just before. 4 at most.

Robins needs to make attacking substitutions earlier.

Yeah it was a bit generous, him and Willis could have been lower for starters with Maycock.

I also thought Shipley was poor today. McNulty did a lot of hard work to put him in some decent positions that he didn’t have the composure to deal with. His delivery from set prices are always hight quality though.

Burge - 5. One decent punch of note in the first half. Other than that, kicking was poor and missed about 4 corners which a half decent Keeper would’ve caught with their eyes closed.
Willis - 6. As much as I think he has been absolutely superb this season, he isn’t the same player at right back. We missed Grimmer’s attacking prowess down that flank tonight.
McDonald - 7. Several superb blocks and interventions, particularly during the first 45.
Davies - 7. Great centre half at this level. A more than able replacement if ever Rod and Willis are unavailable
Haynes - 4. Shite
Jones - 6. Was beginning to grow into the game and his injury came at exactly the wrong time. Altjough McNulty huffed and puffed, there wasn’t the same buzz or level of expectation when he got the ball.
Doyle - 7. Battled throughout the 90 minutes doing the work of 2 defensive midfielders. Broke up a lot of play and started new passages from the back.
Kelly - 6. A real shame he went off injured. Was looking as though he was really up for tonight. Fingers crossed he’s back on Saturday.
Shipley - 7. Decent once more despite being out of his natural position. Was annoyed that Jones took a free kick that should’ve really been left for Jordan. Getting better each game and although far from the finished article he will become a real gem going forward.
Biamou - 6. Did ok, a couple of nice interchanges with McNulty. Can’t fault his work rate.
McNulty - 8. One of his better performances this evening. Looked capable of grabbing the winner and pleased that he managed to get on the scoresheet with a scrambled effort.

Maycock - 5. Nocock. Did nothing for me. Couple of ok passes in the second half but we were lucky not to concede in the first after numerous occasions where he either didn’t even challenge for standard headers or passed the ball aimlessly to the opposition. I know he’s young and inexperienced but if you’re in this team you’re getting a mark and brutal assessment regardless.
Vincenti - 5. - keep waiting for him to come to life and become the player we’ve all been waiting for. Sadly, I think I’ll be waiting forever.

Burge - 6. One if his poorer games.
Willis - 6. Suspect at right back.
Rod - 6.5 solid enough.
Davies - 6.5 won a lot of headers, looks a very good player.
Haynes - 4.5. Very disappointed in him tonight. His woeful cross towards the end summed it up.

Doyle - 6.5 worked hard, especially when he was doing it alone.
Kelly - hard to give him a rating.
Jones - 6. Not his best, but we looker completely different without him.
Shipley - 6. Not as good as Saturday. Could have won it for us.
Biamou - 6. Worked hard. His disallowed goal seemed harsh at the time. Looked absolutely knackered at the end.
McNulty - 6. Glad he got his goal, but the amount of pathetic shots he has is bordering a joke. Would have been a 5 had it not been for a brief good period before Jones went off.

Subs:

Vincenti - 3.5. Pointless playing him out wide. Doesn't win enough headers for his height, woefully slow, can't tackle, struggles to get back and gives the ball away. I'll be so annoyed if he's out wide again Saturday.
Maycock - 6. Few decent touches and looked okay at times on the ball.
Ponticelli - N/A

Burge - 6. Not as commanding as I've seen him recently. Fairly solid though

Willis - 5. Solid-ish in defence, but seemed a bit off form. Offers nothing going forward, we miss Grimmer.

McDonald - 7. My MOTM.

Davies - 6. Looked decent and won a lot in the air.

Haynes - 3. I usually like him but was poor today. Passing was woeful and never really looked like he had control of the ball when he was in possession.

Jones - 6. Didn't really shine today, marked out of it by two players. Looked like a nasty injury, hope he's back soon.

Doyle - 7. I'm not normally a fan but thought he was half decent. At lot less wasteful than normal and broke up play well.

Kelly - 6. We really missed him when he went off. His absence showed how good his positional play is and how much it has an influence on the game. Not on long enough for a higher score.

Shipley - 4. Not great today. Half decent shot in the second half and a good delivery from the corner when we scored (I think it was him!) but other than that his distribution was poor and offered little else.

Biamou - 6. I was surprised a lot of our long ball play didn't go through him as he's strong in the air. Dealt well with what came to him, but needs a better understanding of where McNulty will be if we're going to play long through him. Good finish for his disallowed goal. Shame as I really want him to score.

McNulty - 7. One of his better games. He was busy, physical and caused them problems. I've got no idea if his goal was any good as I couldn't see, but pleased he was in the position to score at least.

Subs:

Maycock - 4. Looked all over the place positionally. Stevenage came back into the game through the middle of the park when Kelly went off and Maycock was nowhere to be seen. Plugged the gap a bit better later on, but if Stevenson is fit, he must be fuming.

Vincenti - 3. He suffers the curse of being tall but not very effective in the air (same) and at the moment I can't see what else he offers. Just doesn't seem like a wide player to me.

Ponticelli - Not on long enough

The Duck - minus 10. If he wasn't so stupid on Saturday, he'd have started and we'd have won.

Overall, very disappointing. I missed the Lincoln game so was excited for this one. A proper let down as I thought Stevenage were poor and there for the taking.

I am still unsure why Robins persists in playing Vincenti out wide as I said in the match report he obviously doesnt rate him in a more central role so if we can get rid in January its a goodbye from me

Burge - 7.5. Very comfortable. Would have got an 8 except for a few dodgy kicks.
Willis - 7. Seemed solid. Bit quiet though.
McDonald - 8. Normal service.
Davies - 7.5. Very good.
Haynes - 6.5. Got forward very well and participated in some great moves. He would have got an 8 except his crossing was sooo bad that he has to lose 1.5 marks for that.
Jones - 8. As The Duck wasn't playing, Jones was our only real creative outlet. I'm very anxious about that injury. If he's out for the season we can forget about promotion.
Doyle - 6.5. Did ok - some poor shooting. He was very pissed off with someone for the goal we conceded. I couldn't see who he was shouting at.
Kelly - 6. Wasn't on the pitch for long.
Shipley - 7.5. Looks like a great prospect - physically strong and gets forward well.
Biamou - 5. Yes, he wins a few headers (except in the penalty area) but as a sum total of his output that is just not good enough. Needs to be benched as he isn't doing enough to warrant a first team place. I think I prefer Beavon and that shows how desperate we are up front.
McNulty - 6. Did some decent passes (and some woeful ones as well). Deserves an extra point for getting a goal. But fuck me he is sooo weak. I've seen girls with more upper body strength.

Subs:
Maycock - 5. Very poor. Another young player who is not yet ready.
Vincenti - 5. Offers very little to the team. We lost all creativity when he came on to replace Jones.

Vicenti 4 at most. How can he lose aerial challenges to a player 6" shorter? Feel like he tries but just isn't good enough.

Every player 5 ,
We were very very average no real spark ,
We need a creative midfielder and a striker , we will finish mid table with this starting team

Not many positive performances apart from the front 2 and the centre halves. Haynes was beyond awful. He can't defend as highlighted by their goal and he can't cross so is incompetent in both halves. Shipley was also poor. He should have buried his shot from McNulty's pass and constantly gave the ball away. Maycock was also just a body He offers little and looked lost. Personally I would play Vincenti centrally once Kelly was injured. And now to Burge.. a goalkeeper of any note should be able to at least come for crosses, communicate with his defence, kick and command an area. He did none of these things successfully.
With the expected absence of Jones we should really now go to 3 at the back and play attacking full backs. Stevenage got back in the game by taking off a striker for a midfielder and bossing this area. We can then go 4 or 5 in midfield and control games this way rather than leave Doyle isolated on his own.

Surely with Kelly looking almost certain to miss Saturdays game he has to bring Stevenson in? Unless he move Shipley inside and plays someone else out wide, (probably Vicenti though it wouldn't be my choice).

If Stevenson doesn't come in then wow, he must have pissed Robins right off. He has to play him, surely.

He wasn't great at Accrington but then wasn't the only one. It has to be him though, I've seen Maycock a few times and not really sure what he is about, reminds me of Finch a bit, busy but ineffective.
