Its my birthday that day! So i get to choose what i want to do, already booked a family room in carlisle. I cant think of anything better to do.

But...my booking is non refundable paid up front for a chesper price.....after the flooding seen there today i wish it was refundable just in case.

The area is very susceptible to flooding. So if you get tickets make sure they are refundable.

Be aware that they’ve already cancelled some services I believe due to an alteration in the works schedule.

I did some work in Carlisle last year they have built a new council house outside the city centre as the old one kept flooding.
Last year the whole ground was under water.

A few good pubs a wetherspoons and a great all you can eat Chinese restaurant.

I'll be going to this one. Off work and one of my local games. But yes there is a lot of flooding happening up this way again at the moment. All trains cancelled and replaced with a bus service.

Carlisle seems to get a bit of unjustified stick as a bit of a grim place, but I think it's a lovely city. For me it's one of the nicest cities in the UK, and along with the location close to the Lakes, probably a damn nice place to live.
