So only 6381 today then. So 2381 in advance/pay on the day/match packages/academy freebies etc.
Reality starting to hit home.:emoji_disappointed:

How many away fans?

We sit way up in East stand, Block 19, and I actually could hear Rod McDonald talking on the pitch and he was by the West Stand touchline. That’s a first on Saturday.

You always know it's a poor atmosphere when you can hear the players talking with each other. It screams 'pre season friendly'

Swindon, Lincoln and Mansfield all had better attendances today. Could hear a pin drop - kept thinking back to the contrast between that and the Lincoln atmosphere.

Their twitter thanked the 158 Crawley fans who travelled (I said to my mate that they wouldn't fill 2 coaches with the amount I thought were there)

One point about the crowd (I think is good considering the fayre served up) I have a 12 match package when I book my seat the ones around me are shown as full but when I get in place I find there are plenty of empty ones there.

Its sad to see us with low crowds people are saying they wont go back while Shitsu are there but in reality I doubt many of them would return anyway now, we have list a shitload of fans with our demise although as we seen at Wembley they are still there sometimes

I think a good portion hide behind the i'll not go while sisu are still there when really L2 football isn't for them.

I'd rather them be honest and say it's poor football in div 4 than bullshit reasons.

Steve82, Here goes then, I'll be totally honest. After having a Season Ticket since December 1991 (except for the exile season), I did not renew by ST this year and I have not been to a home game.

My reasons for not going are:

The level we are now at. It's not the same with dwindling crowds, season after season. SISU are one of the reasons. Next month is the 10th Anniversay since they took over and since then we have suffered 2 Relegations.

I never thought it would happen but I can honestly say, I do not miss going to the matches. I keep saying, l shall go to a home game but then I cannot be bothered. I know several people who also did not bother renewing their ST this year.

I have no issues with the fans that go as it is a leisure activity.

I cannot see a future with these current owners and with them, we are looking at a prolonged period in the lower tiers of the leagues.

Hitman, I respect your honesty and reasons for not going personally as much as I dislike the owners it doesnt affect my decision to go or not go, over the years I have had various sabaticals but here I still am supporting the team I love feeling disappointed week after week but its quality time and a shared interest I go now with my son, for things like that and a common interest money just cannot buy

I've got multiple reasons for not going. I'd like Sisu out but them being here isn't on my list of reasons for not going.

  • None of my mates have season tickets since the Sixfields shambles, 8 of us and my dad used to be up there every week.
  • I work shifts (2 weekends a month) and used to have no issue booking time off for games, but now I've got a 2 year old I can't waste the holiday. Although I'm sure this will change when he's old enough to go.
  • I've always preferred England games anyway.
  • After having not gone for a while and seeing how angry people get about things like stewards telling them where to sit or a misplaced cross it's all a little embarrassing and I cringe at how angry I used to get.
  • I'm not paying £26 to walk up on the day. I've got the money, but I'm not paying it. I wouldn't pay that if we were in the premier league. If I'm about on a Saturday I'd rather spend my money on six pints and not be angry.

Fickle;)

You’re also not allowed to post on here anymore. I’ve been reliably informed in the past that unless you attend 75% of games you’re not allowed an opinion.

Being serious though. Fair play to you. I didn’t go to a game for five years after my kids arrived. Family first.

I do desperately want to go, but all the negative football, feigning, time wasting, cheating and not trying to win is making it increasingly difficult to stomach.

I know you are joking, but for the record I don't comment on player or match performances if I don't go or at least watch the entire game on TV and anyone who does is kidding themselves that they know what is going on.

Out of interest on your point on price and excluding weeks you can’t attend - what price would be needed to attract you to go?

It's true what some people have said-we will not move forward while Sisu are in charge. We may get lucky like we nearly did with Mowbray but on the whole we will fester and may hang around the lower leagues for years till they go.
We also didn't renew and was planning to stick it out till Christmas but after some positive early results have gone away games and to a few home games.
Reasons are Sisu, Level we are at, Price (although I can afford it) and lack of match day experience and atmosphere.
Another thing is which I'm surprised nobody has mentioned is that I can't relate some of the players anymore.
I saw the likes of Burge, Willis, Haynes, Stevenson along with others, not trying and giving up last year and were a disgrace. Now people want me to cheer and encourage them!
Also players who we sign must have no ambition coming to Coventry City anymore. Everyone knows it's a basket case so why would players touch it with a barge pole if they had anything about them?

Footie is about the only thing my wife and i go together for - so i have'nt stopped since 87 - i knows its a disease but i have a chronic affliction

It does make me laugh hearing these pitiful Manc Everton Sunderland Arse complain - they know nothing of football depression ! literally

£20 probably. Which sounds daft as there's no real difference between £20 and £26.

Even £20 I'm not sure.

Why would everybody know that? They are still getting paid, some more than other top end league two clubs according to their managers.

You need to make your mind up, keep giving it the you aren't going to give any money to the club to then pay to go to kit launches and bragging that you buy the expensive tickets.

You have a clear agenda with any youth player also.

Don't see why people give it the rants then don't follow it up.

Why that I wonder?
Anyone past block 17 can' be bothered to contrabute to the atmosphere.
They then moan it is shit.

Block 14/15 were singing stand up if you love City and then the ones that are moaning can' even be bothered to do that, never got past block 17 that is the same every week.
Imagine 80% standing for 20 seconds singing that sure it would give the boys a boost.

I went yesterday and take my hat off to people who have still got STs and go week in week out because it was all pretty dire - crap football, crap atmosphere and very hard to take away any positives at all. I don't know how to explain it but I think the main thing with sisu is they only care about money and football success is not their priority and that seems to somehow affect everything else. I hope someone else might be able to explain it better!

The quality of football has to be a big effect on our crowds. I didn't think there would be much of a gap between League 1 & League 2 but I was wrong. Luton seem the only team that aren't negatively set up. The time wasting tactics employed by the likes of Crawley right from the kick off just stifle every game we play, and unfortunately we set ourselves up in a defensive shape, which means 1st half of nearly every game is a strategic borefest, before we try to change things up in the 2nd half. Our solid defensive set up seems to work well away but at home we need to change to take a more risk based attacking strategy & try to play at a higher pace. As an aside a small thing that might help that would be to use the multi ball system & also employing youth players as ball boys - the time wasted retrieving a ball from a big empty stand is painful at times when we are trying to build attacking momentum & pressure the opposition.

For a lot of fans it’s “City till I die” and will watch no matter what no matter how painful it can be.

6200 odd home fans is a credit to very strong support level. Especially at the extortionate prices tickets are.

What’s happened to the £10 tickets? I’m sure money is a big issue at this time of the year.

If I hadn’t bought a season there’s no way I’d pay £22 to sit in a 4/5ths empty stadium.

The board need to step up and realise money is a huge issue.

Cheltenham and or Wycombe should be 2 for £25 quid and kids free. Pathetic owners.
