Sticks in the throat that comment doesn't it.

Isn't the actual situation that rich people are something like 64% richer since austerity?

All in it together my arse!!!

Manchester is a shithole. The walk from Piccadilly into the centre is as bad as anywhere in the country. There is a spice epidemic in the city. Professional beggars lining the streets alongside the genuine homeless and spice addicts.
The city council so up its own arse talking about how great Manchester is doesn't bother to give the streets the deep clean they desperately need.

Wouldn't recommend it for a city break then...?

You just wait until he gets on to the negatives. That was just the plus points.
It's quite funny really, despite all the trouble and strife the great City of Liverpool has had
To contend with, it always fights back.
However hard they try "and they do try" unfortunately for them they have always been 'and
Will always be in the shadow of Liverpool.

In a strange way, yes it might be a decent visit for a city break (though personally think Liverpool is far more interesting). It does have half decent nightlife and some good music venues, but living nearby you tend to focus on more what it's like day to day and it's a dump.

I hear the result will be announced this evening. So underwhelmed by all of this. It's beyond a one legged arse kicking contest. It's a hamstrung one legged arse kicking contest.

I'm really excited by all this. Worth £60m to whichever city wins.

Paisley favourites with one bookie, Coventry favourite with another.

Fingers crossed.

Somebody has promised my daughter fireworks and an invite to a party if they win, that's all that matters.
Yep. Would say in terms of fond memories that has to be worth more than £1.6m. It's something you can't put a price on.

Well done.

Apparently there is almost football style chanting going on at the Belgrade at the moment, with cries of 'Coventry, Coventry!'

I do think it may well be Paisley win though. Apparently it is one of the very poorest areas of Scotland and desperately needs a boost.

I've not lived in Coventry since 1967 but want nothing more than a Coventry win. I watched a video of Coventry's bid on the BBC website & was so proud of the city that I only lived in for 5 years
