Never driven a 4x4. Are they THAT much better?

Yes I went out and drove normally it powered through the snow - I waived at the plebs in their little fiat and Renault things stuck in the ditch.

Let me borrow it for a few hours? It's ok, I know how to drive it as when I was a pleb with a Renault I had a job of driving JLR cars about all day so I could giggle at people showing off in them knowing I had probably ragged the absolute shit out of it before they got it and made it take off.

I hate snow. However the local kids have built some impressive snowmen so who am I to be grumpy.

PS First thing I did this morning was to top up the bird feeder in my garden.

Nah I will just get a fella off Uber to drive me round. Probably smells better and is cheaper. ;)

On a serious note, could do with one as it's doing my head in not being able to get anything done. :(

I had a Frontera a few years ago. Took it for a 4x4 day up in Cannock Chase. Absolutely brilliant! Even pissed off a couple of Land Rovers around the track!

Managed to get out, main roads are OK but there are some bellends sitting on your back bumper if you are doing 20 - 25 in a 30 that's a bit ropey.

There are always some idiots who take absolutely no notice or adverse road conditions.

Bit snowy here in the Forest of Dean. Somehow Don't think our Morrisons shop will be delivered from Bristol today.....

Well, turns out he did deliver it! Poor chap had 19 to do around here and out towards Ross . We were his first. He said he'll be out till after midnight making drops. Then he has a long drive back to Bristol to look forward to....

I'm over in Telford and we've had getting on for a foot of snow over the past couple of days. I don't drive and need to get in to work tomorrow so will probably have to walk 3 miles in it. Can't wait...

Although it looks pretty and I do like it when it snows this time of year, I now have 18 staff with nothing to do tomorrow. Grrrrrrr!

It always amazes me how teachers all seem to have cars that don't work in the snow if they had the same attitude in Canada they would be the thickest country in the world. My wife and all her nursing colleagues managed to get into work yesterday and I managed with about 100 others to get in to work as normal last night.

All teachers should report to school as normal even if the pupils don't go in or lose a days pay.

Thank you Mr. E Scrooge of Moanyville, Moanyshire, Isle of Moan, for depriving family days like today that may last long in the memory.

And on a side note, my daughter's best friend couldn't even get out of her street yesterday.

Family days are the weekend these are educational days the only cars that haven't managed to get out of my street are teachers ones

No-one got out of my daughter's best friend's street yesterday at all. She lives in Allesley and it's on a rise and a bend.

Family day is today for us, because yesterday my daughter was busy.

Every car coming down our street today is going at about only 10 miles an hour.

Leave us joyous ones in peace. :)

I live on a small street on a hill but managed to get my wife to work yesterday morning at 7am and then I managed to drive in late last night and back at 2am this morning, the argument is have a snow day but teachers should report to school as normal but then who would look after their kids?

There's already talk of schools being closed tomorrow as well, bit gutted actually as I'm supposed to be in a school pantomime today till Wednesday

Can't see why they should be closed tomorrow the teachers could report to the schools and clear the snow away

I know the attitude the teaching profession have is a joke. Another other profession has to turn up regardless if it’s customers are there or not

Imagine turning up for a life saving op and the hospital door is shut with a note outside - sorry closed - snow outside.

My daughter's school didn't decide to close for today until 4pm yesterday.

I get the feeling you just don't like teachers. :)

No I have many friends that are teachers and I have happily told them they are taking the piss, my street is empty of cars now apart from the teachers cars, all the drives are covered in snow apart from one yes the teachers one

Think it was about 6.30 last night the school announced it was closed for today.

Luckily have childcare available if needed but for somebody who doesn't it means days off work, which then has a knock on effect.
