Never a better time than to get behind Cov rugby. If you want a local team to succeed and as a City fan to stick two fingers up to Wasps then lets help the Blue and Whites grow. They can only do it with the City behind them though !
And better still if people were turn away from Wasps and towards Cov.

The people who annoy me the most are those who probably never went to a game of rugby previously, but then jumped right on the Wasps bandwagon.

I know a guy who is Cov through and through, but does like his rugger and occasionally goes to Wasps too. Don't really have too much of a problem with that, but very much do with those who have just suddenly become out and out Wasps fans at the drop of a hat and don't give two hoots about Cov.

Cov RFC has the potential to be a fantastic story over the coming decade, like a lot of Rugby clubs that start these journeys money dries up and they go bust and drop, I fully trust those in charge and if in 5 years time Cov are a stable mid table Championship side with gates of 2,500 a week, Rowland Winter still in charge (he will go onto huge things Prem for sure and who knows England?) I would snap your hand off right now!

Oh and I couldn't give a toss what or where the Wasps are in 5 years as I'd be so bloody proud of my club!

Can't actually do this home match at the BPA but have tickets for the big away game at Moseley on Dec 23rd. Taking the wife to Edinburgh for 5 nights and it just so happens that Edinburgh Capitals are playing Coventry Blaze on the Sunday night................we have two of the 16 tickets currently sold in the away end at the moment !!!

56-7 15 minutes still left!

DMP 7-5 Down now, I'm sure they'll come back and win hopefully no try bp so cov can make a gain of 1 point ahead of next weeks trip up their!

Cov won 63-14 (9 conversations out of 9)
DMP won late on 13-10

So Cov 13 points ahead of them ahead of next weeks visit up there!

Win that and it will almost be in the bag won't it? Make for a smashing Christmas if we were to win up there wouldn't it.

Win it and beat Moseley and it'll mean cov will go into the new year at worst about 17 ahead of 2nd.

They'll have to pretty lose 4 games in the 2nd half of the season and someone else replicate Covs first half of the season form to topple Cov.

If somebody finishes above Cov this season fair bloody play they deserve to go up!

If there's only one team to finish above Cov this season it will be the team who finish bottom of the Championship

Cov were awesome today and utterly ruthless. That's probably the best performance I've seen this season, Ampthill were just blown away. It's rare for Ampthill to concede more than 20 points in a game and the most they've conceded this season prior to today's game was 24 points. For Cov to score 63 past them with 9 tries tells you what a very good Coventry side this is. Some of the tries were outstanding but Trimble's try in the 2nd half after Maisey switched play and Stokes throwing a dummy to open up a gap for him to nip through and then a switch pass with Trimble coming in off the wing was a joy to watch. Crowds are consistently creeping up too. Just under 1800 there today despite the bitter cold.

I'll dodge the politics (for once) and just say this - if you like the game then there's no better place to watch rugby than the Butts.

This was a storming performance against a team who are no mugs. It could well be the first Cov side that I've ever seen win a division! :)

Haha
There was one just before HT that missed by half a meter but I think one of the linos was local so we all sledged him and the flag went up.
Oh my poor Head and belly.
It was Score at will yesterday, I did hear their Captain was trying to have it called off 15 before KO.

Yep Ampthill were not happy it was being played, think they could have played with 25 and Cov would have won!

Think a few of them missed the bus home
One or two stayed for a drink and had one aaking how to get to the station or the M1.

Blimey I saw the below tweet from player coach James Pritchard (who started last season with Cov before leaving midway through)

Echo the thoughts of many what a great performance from Cov yesterday, they were simply superb from 1st minute to the last. Some superb tries and some superb performances.Barring a miracle the title is now virtually in the bag, can't really see any side getting even close to us.
The entertainment between the Butts and the Ricoh could not be more stark, one is a vibrant joyful occasion, the other a toxic and depressing chore. The Xmas fixture at Moseley looks like a barnstorming affair, with a huge following.

Might help. Maybe we can play them when they HAVE been beaten at home and when Cov have the league all but sewn up.

Rearranged for the 24th Feb

Well annoyingly they have a large number of Newcastle players on dual Reg (loan) who've been recalled by Newcastle for an A team (reserve team) game on Monday.

I'm not surprised really, there is a lot of ground frost when areas are not in the sun. The pavements round here are like glass in places. Will give us time to get some players back from injury too and they will be fired up for Moseley away. We might just have a bigger lead at the top by Feb as well.
