Which no doubt attracted some listeners. Eakins interview left you in little doubt he had no money.

Only a few thought that to start with. By all means do the interview but it was the stuff leading up to it that I thought was out of order whether it got them listeners or not.

If the Dale Evans backlash is bad now, imagine what it'll be like when SISU sell Bayliss to fund the court case to sue him.

you can imagine the sisu lawyers when the news evans broke, whispering in their ear sell bayliss and well finally get you the win you want in court for the transfer fee lol.

BBC are not allowed to look into credibility. I know a victim of the lottery fraud guy who nearly lost his job over his decision to give him a new car before the cash came through. That’s different as checks should be done and checks are legally allowed. They are not for a news agency. It’s considered newsworthy or not.

Agreed Otis, you took a lot of flak, along with a few others. Don't think that particular pic backs you up though!! :D

Yes but the "YOU MUST TUNE IN FOR THIS NEWS" "BIG CCFC NEWS" could be seen to adding to the credibility couldn't it? The build up and the hype about it.

The fact he asked them for Hornby's email should have been a massive giveaway, without needing to actually do any checks.

No it’s just selling the programme through a headline. Freddie Starr Ate My Hamster - then you read the story.

Can understand why they would do it to get people listening, just think it's out of order. Same as when Gilbert did it to announce his book launch.

They’ll let anyone on CWR selling a CCFC story with little substance. Cough cough Mark Labovich cough cough Tim Fisher cough. ;)

There were a couple of people on here handing out some fairly hefty abuse towards those with healthy scepticism too. Apologies in order...

The Football Club and its owners have been made aware of screenshots of emails confirming the sale of Coventry City Football Club to a Mr Dale Evans.

There have been no negotiations with Dale Evans, and given the lack of formal offer and proof of funds, no sale has been agreed.

Whilst we cannot comment on the authenticity of the Clapham & Collinge Solicitors’ email, we can emphatically confirm that the email showing as from a ‘Laura’ is utter fabrication. No such email was sent from SISU Capital.

Both the Football Club and SISU Capital are currently taking legal advice given the false representation by Mr Dale Evans.

I hope he gets help rather than legal action thrown his way

Seems clear I feel that he needs help, but his family should have stepped in and protected him in the first place!

Looks like Dale has been duped again, when will he ever learn?

Sometimes it's easier said than done, mind.
Yeah, get that, but if that had been my dad or brother or cousin I would have taken steps to contact someone like Nick or the Telegraph or CWR to explain the situation and his 'condition.'

People then would have just ignored him and paid no attention to anything he said or posted.

I do honestly believe it pained him when people started calling him a bullshitter and giving him stick.

I can't see him actually being taken to court, especially not if he turns out he does have an issue. It's probably more of a warning to sort it out, his family should see it and think "shit, this is serious we need to get him help".

This won't get as far as legals the man is obviously not all there. He'll probably get a visit from the authorities who will tell him to stop. I hope then this will be the end of it

That's the thing, it's all well and good people just assuming it is a mental illness but what if it's not? He only tends to do it late at night usually so is it something related to having a beer?

If somebody explained and had a quiet word to the news outlets, Hoffman, CCFC etc I am pretty sure they would be understanding rather than the need for that.

I don't want to see the bloke dragged through court and potentially ruining his family, I want him to stop getting people's hopes up and away from CCFC stop bullshitting about buying people's houses. If he needs help then the people closest to him should look to help.

The really sad thing is he never actually won any money at poker.
The whole story from start to finish is complete fabrication
Very sad !!

Yep, well that's what the other part of me thinks.

One side thinks of me mental issues, the other side thinks he's just pissed up when he does it. The second scenario though does leave him open to prosecution by the law and professional bodies.

If he was pissed up and my relative I would still be contacting people on his behalf to apologize and explain.

Not a shred of me thinks he is doing it on purpose. I think mental issue or a drunken beer goggle thing.

It cannot be drink related because he was sober on CWR and when he met Gary Hoffman
I think it is purely attention seeking supported by a mental health issue
