I think Barrett just earned himself a possible start on Sat and the Italian gets another two so five in two games....

Wouldn't mind watching them or seeing the highlights to see the style of play.

I can't see it being route 1 like the first team as they don't have a big striker to hold it up, from the commentary it sounds like nice passing football.

Jack Hickman released Jordan Ponticelli and he chipped it over the ‘keeper to make it 4-0.

And Ponticelli got his second just before half-time as the ball was played through to him by Dominic Hyam

How often do we play strikers through or set them through on goal?

Unless we start doing that, it's pointless chucking Ponticelli in as it's not playing to his strengths.

Barrett can play striker, so maybe McNulty and Barrett up front while we seek out a Biamou replacement.

U23 games are entirely different to L2 football
Tackles are as rare as hen's teeth
And both teams usually try to play football
In L2 the majority of the teams park the bus and try to nick a goal from a set piece or on the break

Looks like the front 3 for Sat is Barrett, Beavon and JP.
No mcnulty?

I have said on previous threads, ponti and sparky up top, Barrett and Maguire-Drew out wide be great to see. Doyle’s and Young Tom in the centre. Concrete rod in for Davies

McNulty got put in behind twice on Saturday looking at the highlights, twice at least against Stoke from memory. It does happen. Maybe playing Bayliss at the tip of a diamond midfield would help. Although diamond midfield set ups remind me of Thorn

Agreed. It's like a training match because it is one!

You can only beat who you are playing against Barrett and Ponticelli must be full of confidence.

At least I now know I did see Richard Shaw last night and not a look a like.
