I have given him no animosity, I just said what a waste of ink that was meaning we are paying someones wage and getting nothing back like a few others, not his fault but when he has played we never looked like scoring so time for him to move on and good luck to him

Did we get to the bottom of whether he's contracted to us for next season, or not? Reading this thread it seems that he is?

I am sure people were on here saying we should sign Baker, his experience, got promoted at Portsmouth, influence in dressing room, coaching? (I have never heard he has any coaching qualifications?)

Now consider this, how many promotions did Beavon experience at Burton??

Yes but baker is the new messiah and Beavon never scored 70 goals in 3 games

He hasn’t because he still hasn’t scored 70 pro goals and never will he has a paltry 52 in 300 games there are centre backs with better records than him

Point me to a CB who has 52 goals in 300 games.

Not exactly but Kilklines goal per game ratio was as good as Beavons. 28 in 170

John Terry has gotta be up there abouts.

Steve Bruce scored over 80 goals almost twice as many as Terry

Both greats of the game. Bit of an unfair comparison (and I am no fan of Beavon!). It's not as if there are similar CBs to Jordan Willis who routinely score more than Beavon has over his career.

If we had somebody who could take decent set piece that might help them, I have been disappointed with macdonald on this as I thought he might get a few

Agree with that. Set piece deliveries haven’t been up to a good standard all season

I think he’s a really nice guy. Don’t understand the animosity.

Unfortunately, but inevitably and rightly, players are judged on their performances not the merits of their personality. If the latter was the case, Nicholas Parsons would have won our player of the year award every year for the last 50 years. He (Beavon, not Nicholas) gets a bad time because he is seen taking up a precious wage / squad place and never contributing.

According to the CET he signed a contact in the summer to extend his deal to 2019 :/ Disappointing. Hopefully someone will offer to take him for nothing in the summer.

As people know, I have always said I rated Beavon and I think he is a decent player.

This season though he has offered nothing at all unfortunately. Big disappointment, even in spite of the injuries.

Next season he will surely be too old to be of any use.

Andy Morrell, Robbie Simpson, Stuart Beavon, Max Biamou ...

Everyone always mentions that non-goal scorers "Work hard" surely that's the bare minimum expected, but as a striker I want goals too. This isn't like a Big C who wasn't prolific but made lots of goals for others, these are players who run around a lot and don't achieve much, but are lauded by fans for their effort, Give me a "lazy" Jacob Murphy above these any day of the week.

Clive Platt too! At the end of the day the attack is where you win a game, we need clinical players that can make a difference - not hardworkers that couldn’t finish a kitkat. Sorry Stuart, pack your bags!

A lazy Jacob Murphy was one of the largest contribution to the Mowbray implosion.

Careful what you wish for.

If you’re after a centre back who’s played a more realistic level and has goals similar to that then Aiden Flint is a decent example?
any relation to Larry?
