I don't get the desperation to get a drink or smoke either. It's only a couple of hours.

Although on the way out I don't understand why people decided they wanted to stop for a chat in the doorways?

agree with the conclusion of your hypothesis. also don't drink so much before game then end up going to the pissed every 15 mins. how many times I had to move. numpties. what's more important the football or the beer?

Probably. I had the impression he only normally did away games.

I couldn't understand how he got tickets in that Block, although there were also two young lads next to us, in our seats actually. When I have tried to buy an additional seat it was disallowed because the system won't allow adults without children in the group.

Load of knobheads in block 17 round by me as well last night. Evidently on the gear. Had a blazing row with a ST holder that sits down from me because they were stood up for the entire game. Also had another fella mid-way through the 2nd half who was phoning his mates at the top of the stand and waving to them, completely ignoring the game for a good 5 mins. Proper bandwagon brigade out in force.

It let me buy in there for that game as well, usually it is restricted

They get their power of search because it is a condition of entrance. It may be impractical to search everyone but they can search people and their bags if they wish. If you refuse they can refuse you entrance even if you have a ticket, because you are not abiding by the terms and conditions of the ticket and ground regulations.

Well - If terrorism is a threat we should all worry. I was just about to be frisked when the stewards mate called him to deal with someone who was giving some grief. Just told me to go through. Obviously missed the anti terrorism “create a distraction” training session!

2 guys in front of me opened a carrier bag, took out 4 cans of stella and a pack of fags, drank and smoked all first half, yards away from stewards with no problems. must of moved at half time and sat somewhere else.

Saw a bit of a scuffle between City fans and police near the Tesco underpass entrance after the game. Nothing serious and the police were being very forceful. (well done)

As for stopping in gangways, drives me feckin nuts.
Woman in front of me stopped to check her phone, on the bottom step as we were leaving. Then got upset when I walked into the back of her. Sorry love, but I have 500+ people behind me who don't give a shit who's tagged you on Facebook.

True I've given up but sometimes I feel the need to chain smoke I still go to the smoking area at half time to speak to supporters I have known for many years.

With all due respect, I doubt an Ariana Grande concert aimed at 10 year old schoolgirls would be top of the ISIS target list, but if there is one idiot living in the area who wants to do something in the name of their "God", Coventry vs Notts County on live TV might get some awareness

As I was leaving the stadium on Saturday night, I was embarrassed and ashamed to see three lads arguing amongst themselves (Coventry fans, who had gone together as friends)...one of their friends had been collared by the police and they were arguing between themselves about it. These were lads who had clearly had too much to drink, and could not handle it. On the way to the match, there were people p****d out of their skulls on the train, and another group of lads with two crates of beers who were already a bit far gone.

I have also heard about Coventry fans spitting at a young Notts County fan after the match...what bravado it must take to spit at a 12 year old.

For me, the behaviour of fans is fast becoming the reason I don't go to as many matches any more, not the quality of football, league we are in or who we might be playing

That's the point. The threat level prior to that event wasn't raised to the highest level, which is critical.

The steward on Saturday was claiming searches were a legal requirement as the match had been given the highest threat level for terrorism. That would mean there was an expected imminent attack at the match.

I think it’s a bit extreme to not go to a match because of a few morons. I for one will not let the actions of a small minority stop me from following my team. If that were the case then nobody would attend a match in the top two tiers. Just count yourself lucky that you don’t support a team like Leeds or Millwall.

I just don't understand why things have got so much worse with regards to the behaviour of our fans...I certainly don't remember it being this way even 10 years ago. I remember when I was 16,17, 18 years old and had a season ticket; I would walk to and from Highfield Road (particularly for night games) and never felt concerned about there being violent episodes to witness, and I certainly don't recall seeing any. Yet nowadays it is almost every match.

Is it a result of fans frustrations against the owners? Is it just more evident to me as I am more aware of my surroundings due to recent world events? Do these scuffles stick in the mind more because I would like to one day take my nieces to a game, only to then think that I would not wish for them to see such behaviour, or risk being verbally abused or even spat at?

Yes but 10 years ago the teenagers had a couple of pints and just got mouthy. Now they can get high for £10 and not know wtf they are doing.
