Great news.

Will be some atmosphere now.

How about we get some bums on seats & hand tickets out to schools now instead of opening blocks lol

That possibly had more to do with being 1 nil down after 90 seconds though

Or the fact that 75% of the crowd didn't and don't care about CCFC. The 40,000 at Wembley made an effort with the atmosphere from minute 1.

At Accrington it was painful before the game.

Because it doesn't work! Look at Acrington last season. It's not just about filling the Ricoh, it's filling it with the right people. People that will bring an atmosphere. Not 3000 6 year olds and their Man Utd supporting parents!

It also didn't work because despite the attendance being given as 28,000 it was only really about 18 000.

What did you expect from it? My wife gave out a lot of tickets at her school and said the kids were all bouncing, before and after. That sort of stuff is priceless.

I am sure they will do it again at some point this season, and they should, perhaps reviewing the process as it wasn't perfect.

Atmosphere was shite primarily because we were behind in the 1st minute and barely got out of our own half all game.

It's a good initiative and if we have a community day once a season then that's a good thing.

Call me tin foil but it wouldn't surprise me if the old bill have let them open the blocks in the hope it does kick off and then they can come down like a ton of bricks

What's it got to do with the old bill?
They made an announcement the other week it was a decision made by the Club and the Club alone.

Because it's quite a big deal taking that many to Wembley and struggling to attract numbers for home matches?
Thing is it is nothing new we have always been that way.
We made it a family weekend I am the only one out the 4 that goes every week.
Had to twist my wife arm to make her go.
I'm sure there are many others in the same boat.

I don't think it's just down to the club to get people through the gates.
It's down to fans to talk mates into coming too.
I've got 8 people (normally casuals) coming as I've said we a)need as many fans in to counter 5k Scumderland and b)told them it should be a good day/atmosphere.
People need to be pushing this game to everyone that'll listen. Especially those who, like me, have JSB vouchers. 2adults and 2kids for £22. Me and my lad both have STs so have/had no need for them so my cousin is coming up from Brizzle for it and like I Say, I've managed to get 8 extra bums on seats next week. Something we should all be trying to do.
A good atmosphere/result against the mackums and who knows how many might come back the week after/Tuesday night for pompey

Me personally am not bothered about the Wembley crew , I just see no reason why a city this size off the back of a promotion can’t attract 12-14k home fans.

The excuses are wearing thin tbh

Especially as the “poisonous” owners have allowed Messiah to spend a few quid. And yes I know it’s too late and blah blah but we are where we are!

Aren't the owners poisonous? Considering that they have done things that have deliberately hurt this club I would have thought it was a fitting description.

Not disputing that but they have definitely backed MR in the summer.

Don’t get me wrong, I would still love it if they jogged on but credit where it’s due?

Could be the daftest move of my life....but I've gone in block 15 with my 10 year old to give him a taste of the atmosphere....if its toxic we will quickly move out. Alternatively if I get 6 pints down me before the game I'll be scrambling over that black material throwing punches as I go

Not me...I prefer to stand. And anyway....I'm far too polite....I would ask rather than tell.

Exactly the point, instead of just throwing free tickets at schools and cheaper tickets anomously, the club should email vouchers to ST holders and JSBs so we can then encourage family and our kids friends to join us, I think that would help generate a better atmosphere

The only credit I would give them is that they have let Robins get on with it. Any money going into the club is money generated by the club. Yes he has been allowed to spend the McNulty money, money Robins maufactured himself with the astute free transfer signing of McNulty. Yes it looks like the Maddison money is still there to future proof the clubs existence. It also means that Sisu do not have to put any of their own money in to prop up the club. Like lots of other fans, probably like yourself, I spend thousands each year on tickets and travel supporting our club. I don’t begrudge that money, CCFC will always be my club. Strange that thousands of fans contribute to the club but the owners will only put something in to keep the club going when it is absolutely necessary.
In every aspect of what they do, from no information to misinformation, to the very damaging court cases, things remain the same as far as I can see. So no forgiving or forgetting from me. They still need to go.

It's all good saying that but when you have an old person behind you who can't stand, so you have to sit and then you have someone in front of you standing it's not really fair. Everyone sitting is the only fair thing.
Personally prefer standing, which is why I much prefer away games but can understand why people main about it

Don’t go in those blocks. Everybody knows how things work at the Ricoh and if you turn up there and expect to sit it’s your own fault.
