Are you his Dad?
This is sad tbh

Guy clearly needs a wake up call and to get on straight and narrow. Work a 9-5 man. If it's not a a much money as u want then go without certain stuff. But being honest will make it life better I imagine.

Though I haven't heard James talking in terms of the boat trip and saying 'You're all pathetic and I was right all along again.'

I suppose there is a tenuous link with 'boat' and 'Shipley'.

What I don’t get if someone was running an event like this to try and rip people off , is how they ever thought it would work, it’s not as if people wouldn’t notice there wasn’t a free bar and they aren’t dealing with tourists where you have an element of anonymity.

So based on this I feel it’s was probably down to naivety in the first place, rather than anything more sinister. However the embarrassment and not wanting to admit you,ve been a bit of idiot and then having loads of people on your case could lead to panic and saying contradictory things than just snowball out of control, so the problem could be with dealing with the issue rather than anything being premeditated

Yeah, I agree. Wouldn't make sense for him to have done it on purpose. Seems to be digging a deeper hole with his reaction after the event. If he'd come out straight after and just said he'd screwed up and offered an apology and maybe a partial refund it would have all blown over. The mob mentality probably isn't helping though.

Not saying it’s right or wrong but I get a feeling some people were expecting an all inclusive trip down the Thames on the QE2 .

Some people have got refunds. To be honest I haven't contacted him asking for one.

I think he's made an error. I had a good time on the boat as did the other 300 odd from what I saw on the day. I didn't get on the boat to get smashed in the 3 hours but to have a few beers and enjoy myself. I did exactly that and the atmosphere was excellent. It was £9.60 for 2 stellas which is reasonable for London.

Wouldn't he have to have that anyway?

Thought you did.

No of course not and he won’t I’m pretty sure. The point is he’s acting as some kind of booking agent. If things go wrong with a flight you go through the agent normally and if they can’t deak with it the relevant body they are affiliated to.

Are you saying he’s covered? Then his insurance will pay the refunds.

How much for a couple of Sheila's and a Tracey?
