Everton have been banned from buying any players under 18 for 18months.

They’ve nicked some class players over the years and I can’t help but think that Sambou would’ve been one helluva player if he’d stayed with us.

What I want to know though is-why just Everton? Surely most of the premier league and championship are at!!

Does seem like picking on a slightly easier target to me. If you look at the number in the likes of Man City and Chelsea academies amongst others I think there must at least be cause for investigation.

As for Sambou - I think Ponti is better. Maybe they could have been a good strike partnership in years to come but I guess we'll never know. Think he's got a year left at Chelsea then I expect him to be released unless Everton happen to get relegated which is quite unlikely.

Just get him back then after a trial if he still has it.

He is a good example to show academy players who think choosing an under 23 team over the first team is a good choice, I don’t think he has ever even been loaned out
