This Changes in January very quickly. Not saying there’s no one coming now but who knows about later today

I think that's probably just the club's stance from a comms POV when questioned about transfers.

That's not to say anything is imminent, but regardless I suspect it's a pre-approved response when faced with these types of questions.

That's not entirely true. Most sensible ones think he's just a victim of their own success.

He needs time to adapt to the Championship which he didn't get last season. As mentioned, he's more of a work in progress signing.

Yeah was posting pretty much that, we had players that struggled at first when we went from League 2 to 1 then again when we went to the championship takes time to bed in. Ipswich went straight through so hes basically gone from Wimbledon to the Prem in less than a year

Poor as he has been he has now scored 2 in 2. I doubt Lampard wants him to go at this moment in time

I thought the plan was that we had to sell someone out of BTA, Lati who both seemed to gain the most interest.

MVE we have no other option
Sheaf is injured
Kitching worked his way into the team
Nobody wants Collins or Tavares

We dont have to sell anybody but we could use the funds if we did.

Lati can play RB so it’s not as disastrous as it seems.

I don’t believe the transfer policy is one in, one out as people have reported earlier in the window.

I suspect Al Hammadi might eventually make a Championship striker but as we already have Bassette as a young forward we are looking to develop, there wouldn't seem much point into bringing another in much the same mould.

We have 1 space left in the 25 man squad but if needed we can remove players like Cian Tyler etc to create space so we aren't going to wait until we have sold someone before we can buy

Does anyone know how much Thomas-Asante actually cost? When iFollow was stuck on Blackburn commentators on Saturday, one of them said that he cost us in excess of £4m +add-ons. I thought the general feelingwas that is was £2.

By the way, their commentary was awful. So much worse than what we get. Really dull and seemingly uninterested, similar vibes to their fans from what I could hear. So glad that isn't my club.

David Phillips sounded like a dull robot

I'll reserve judgement until the window is closed, but I don't think it would be a particularly good look if we got to the end of it and didn't sign anyone, especially given that a new manager has just come in. I would be surprised if that is the case though, but it is still a bit strange to be sat here on January 24th with literally no activity other than a couple of loan recalls that are unlikely to make any significant impact on the first team.

Doesn’t sound like you are reserving your judgement ….

I wouldn't panic tbh, if we can't buy anyone unless someone is moved on, then realistically I would keep the squad together and go again in the summer.

Anyone we bring in right now isn't going to change the fact promotion we aren't going to get promoted. That said, this current crop of players have had a really piss poor start to the season, particularly Collins, Thomas, Joel, Binks, Dadilva, MVE, Eccles, Torp, Sheaf, BTA and Simms.

A combination of confidence and inexperience being the main ingredients, however that same group are slowly turning a corner now, and I would love us to go the remainder of the season with all of these lads growing in confidence, learning important lessons, maturing and most importantly growing together as a team.

To me there's no point spending 3 million quid just because everyone else is, or at the expense or loosing someone that plays week in week out. If we had money, then things would be different.

Keep what we have, EMC, Wright and Sheaf will be back soon and things may change drastically. We could all be looking at a really strong ending to the season, still not getting promotion, but definately setting the standards for the next season.

Still think Doug’s like us. Win this weekend and he’ll have playoffs in his eyes and break open the chequebook.
