Does anyone know what happened at FGR when he verbally (at least) attacked Fankaty but was promptly sacked shortly after.
As far as I am concerned Deeney is a scumbag somehow being given prominence by the BBC but I'd love to know the truth,

Didn't like him as a player and certainly has a lot to learn as a manager, but I quite like his frankness in discussions on the radio.

Fanky was a guy whose career was on the up and then got injured badly. He came back too quick maybe and then missed the most important pen in CCFC history.

Next minute, he finds himself at the bottom club in the league and is being ridiculed in the press by a big thug.

Talk about kicking a bloke when he’s down.
Deeney felt Dabo was finished, it looks like he was right.

Well Nick from what I read it wasn't pleasant and next thing is Dabo was looking for a new club
Just looking for the truth.
the truth is there, he said what he said to the press which is the issue

Unfortunately Dabo’s decline was obvious for us all to see, he was exceptional in League 1 at times but the sad reality was he had turned into a bit of a liability towards the end - Through no fault of his own may I add, he just lost his fitness

He shouldn’t have even been involved in the final, yet alone taking the most important penalty - But it is what it is and Deeney was out of order to lambast him in the press like he did

It’s a shame but it’s one of those things that happens in football unfortunately, it’s easy to get into a bit of a spiral when injuries and loss of form kicks in and very hard to get out

Called his performance awful in the press. But later came out he fully went to town on him for poor effort

"He’s not been good enough for five, six, seven, eight, nine weeks now.

“Why do you think he was dropped at the start?

“I’ve told him in front of everyone that six months ago he had a kick to go to the Premier League, now he wouldn’t get a game in the National League"

Always keep an eye on FGR, such an odd appointment. They never quite recovered from Rob Edwards leaving days after they were promoted to League 1. They got stuck in a loop of modern coach followed by a nutter! I thought they had got a decent replacement in Burchnall but that went tits up fast. Then they tried a madman in Big Dunc Ferguson which went horribly. Tried again to get a fancy up and coming coach in Horseman which also went horribly. So they panicked and gave it to Deeney who was there already. He is so unsuitable for management, totally the wrong temperament! Steven Cotterill is exactly what they need now.

Tricky league to get out of but FGR are doing ok. Need to get promoted within a few seasons as their new stadium has finally been green lit after some petty local council bollocks blocked progress.

Or he helped finish him. Outrageous what he did to a person that clearly had huge confidence issues. He needed an arm round the shoulder not to be made national news.

Deeney has the biggest delusion of his own ability out of anyone in football. His voice is also disgusting for someone so regularly on radio, sounds like he needs to blow his nose.

What he said was to the media so you just have to Google what he says .

It looks like deeney was right, the way he went about it was shithousery.

Dabo was certainly good enough to be playing in League Two.

He had just endured the biggest disappointment of his career and was struggling with injuries all season. He clearly needed an arm around him and time to rebuild his fitness and confidence.

Deeney has the emotional intelligence of a gnat and ran Dabo's career into the ground shortly before ruining his own managerial one.

No idea why he gets airtime on the BBC, I hear more insightful footballing opinions down the pub.

It was a bully move. Deeney thinks he’s a bloke few would want to square up to and plays on it.

Deeney is in the same wankstain category to as Joey Barton. Adored by keyboard bullies who like their blokey heroes to "tell it like it is".

I'll try also where is Dabo playing now?......
Nowhere, released by Raith Rovers. It must have been a shit end to a promising career. I think it was his hip that gave in, had some serious surgery but was never the same.

Regardless of if Deeney was correct or not it's still a dick move. Dabo was poor there but the whole club was a mess and he was only one of a few that really disappointed why bring up the playoff penalty miss it's just harsh.

I loved Dabo but football is brutal and what Deeney said in public probably gets said in dressing rooms to players up and down the country all the time. I wish Dabo luck in whatever he does if cannot play football and will always thank him for his service to Coventry - he was fab in league one title season.

"Woke" 🤮🙄 Fuck sake. No. Just weird press spin. They sacked Ferguson and put academy manager Hannah Dingley in as caretaker whilst they found a replacement (Horseman)

Completely standard stuff like when we put in Carr whilst sorting a deal for Lampard. Obviously the usual types were all over it like a frothing gammons. Weird reaction in my book

Funny how everyone mentions BBC , he is a pundit and presents his own show on TalkSport. One good thing is he always has a dig at the Villa, but no great insights offered on the game generally.
