I actually feel bad for him.

You look at a performance like that, and you can't single one player out, as they were all dreadful. Everyone else, you expect better from. Collins, though, is a rabbit in headlights; terrified, frozen, waiting for his doom.

Thing is, for most players who were dreadful, it was, an off day.
For Collins it was the norm.

I feel bad for him because I don't like to see someone going through that but he needs droppng now.

I tbough Lampard stuck with him for too long when he first arrived but could see his reasoning.
I can't see any reason to persevere with him now.

Wilson has to start Saturday.

I also think that Frank looked like he was so angry at the end of the game he couldn't shake hands fast enough to get away. That's not all down to Collins as there were sub-standard performances all over the pitch today.

I am so desperate for him to redeem himself but he's finished with us. He should not have played another game for us after Portsmouth and it's remarkable that he's still being given a chance.

Go back and watch the final few games of last season. It's genuinely disgraceful. The Hull game was utterly embarrassing.
We are way past this.
He's had chance after chance and has continued to cost us goals with not just poor goalkeeping, but down right inexplicable goalkeeping.

Again, said it before to all those that said, yeah, Collins was fine (WBA/Portsmouth etc) - it is because he did not have shots to save!

His decision makeing is horrible.
His footwork is so bad - casing point today for 1st
He is scared to death - casing point for 3rd... Turns away from ball...makes body SMALLER - hits his spaghetti arms and flops into the six yard box.
His technique is like something I've never seen in a goalkeeper - the way he dives -.
He

Honestly cannot see how he continues to get games in professional football.

I'm fuming with him.

He's got no desire to save shots, put his body on the line to do so, come and claim a ball through a crowd of people.

I do feel sorry for him.
I want him to do well.
BUT, his last chance should have been Portsmouth (and possibly even Hull last year!)

Robins had clearly binned him off.

That's my only real serious criticism of Lampard so far, that he's persisted with Collins. I get the reason, Wilson is a bit more old-school and can't play out from the back, but he's also not frightened of getting hurt, or had his confidence completely shot through.

I’ve seen enough. In an ideal world he never plays for us again. Lampard has dropped him once and is presumably prepared to do so again. The only question is if Lampard has any confidence in Wilson. Assuming he has any at all, it should be him who starts. But there is no guarantee that the GK situation improves.

It’s a gamble, but might as well play him against Luton. He can’t be any worse.

I've said it for ages, Collins is shot mentally. It's clear as day for all to see. He's constantly on edge, he cant catch, can't save, can't command his box, is mute all game

It's actually really poor from the club to keep playing a bloke who thousands can see is mentally broken

The bloke needs some Sertraline not being wheeled out in front of thousands of people who think hes one of the worst keepers they've ever seen

Well this is it. I don't think it's much of a gamble because if Wilson only throws one in his own net v Luton then he's doing better than Collins.
I back Wilson to do a slightly better job stopping shots, but I can’t tell if the small pitch will be a blessing or a curse for his distribution

When a keeper’s head goes he may as well go out there with his hands covered in slime

Collins is good with the ball at his feet but isn't a good shot stopper I'd put wilson back in he's more confident it's a big call but you would have no faith in collins stopping a shot whether it's on his mear post or far post it's more than likely a goal

Great. Another Brad Collins thread.

He won’t be our GK next season as we’ll almost definitely sign another in the summer.
He should not be out keep now!
That is the frustrating thing.
Many of these posts are highlighting issues to those that have said "he's fine... he'll be fine ..just give him a chance....he can't keep being this bad..."

It’s like having a piece of wet lettuce in goal.

Not watched the goals back but felt like he could have done more for all 3 today, 2nd was most egregious though.

Cannot believe we’ve ended up in this situation.
He's a league 2 keeper mate, unfortunately Dovin got injured. Wilson in the long term isn't good enough stylistically, so they are carrying on with Collins.

Simms is another one, he's not at this level, I don't care what anyone says, he is 6ft3 can't hold a ball up, can't header, has no first touch, doesn't do fuck all and generally a huge waste of money.

We need Binks gone, Lamps doesn't rate him, along with Simms, Collins, Joel and maybe 1 of the younger lads.

Bassette, Wilson, Bidwell, Dasilva, Eccles and Torp are all good subs, but Centre back, Left Back, a keeper on loan and a Winger is vital.

Look at Burnleys, Shef U's and Leeds squads, that's the measuring stick and that is the level required.

Ah thats ok then, we should just let him carry on costing us points while he's mentally shot

It’s just the same things being rehashed on new threads. Dovin is injured and Wilson is either not fit enough or good enough to be behind Collins in the pecking order.

There’s nothing we can do about the situation until we can sign a keeper in the summer.

I’m more interested in how tactically we’ve not dealt with the bottom teams in this league rather than scapegoating particular players.

At this point I can only presume that we offered Wilson a contract with a view for to be third choice/emergency ‘keeper with no real intention to play him.

Simms did make our goal today.

Then why on earth have we given him a new contract?

It just doesn't make any sense and I'm only 50% sure that Collins will be gone. I have a terrible fear that he will still be here next season.
